The Dreaded 80/20 rule!

We all have been in this matrix. Either you have a partner that meets 80% of what you are looking for and you tolerate that 20% that drives you nuts.

Or...

You have a partner that is around for that 20% that you want around and keep them at an arm's length because the remaining 80% is just too much to make a solid part of your world.....

If there is no such thing as a 100%-er, then there's no reason to assign any percent to someone. If you can't win, why keep score?

U my dear...are an anomaly!!!

WHAP!!

This lady couldn't get enough sex, so she went to see a doctor. She explained that she had sex with her husband six times a day, but that wasn't enough. She had three lovers on the side who saw her a couple times each a day, and even that wasn't enough.

The doctor scratched his head and said, "Over ten times a day and that's still not enough? You're an anomaly."

The lady said, "I'm an 'anomaly'? Thank God - my husband say's I'm a slut!"

I think it's more of a sliding scale, really. Throughout the course of any long-term relationship, it can be anywhere from 90/10 to 10/90. The main thing is to stick it out, and it will eventually balance out. Unless it just stays at 20/80 for the long-haul.

i think the 20% is important. a little bit of irritating imperfection is good, because it keeps you from forgetting that your partner is just a person like you, instead of some kind of idealized love god. which isn't to say that you can't consider your partner a love god and still acknowledge things about them that get on your nerves, but i like having that little fringe of annoying shit to keep things in check. in fact, i try to be at least 40% annoying for the one i love.
