I stopped watching it a long time ago. The attack on the towers drew me back in, and ironically at the same time - reminded me of why I choose to not engulf my mind in it all. After 2 days of misery, no more news.

Some people attack me for not filling my mind with the constant negativity of the news. Sadly though, folks AROUND me are always talking about it, they are scared, talking about how bad things are...so I get to hear about it anyways - but only in passing.

Therapy

I watch the news every once in a while. Every 3 or 4 weeks. I think any more than that and I'd be seriously down about everything.

I don't have to watch the news to know terrible things go on. I think I've watched enough to know what things do happen. I would just be keeping myself from enjoying my life if I purposefully turned to the news to moan/complain about all that is wrong.

Makes more sense to use that energy to enjoy my life. Myself included, maybe sometimes people do not due to existential guilt?
