I had all three of my children by C-section. You get an epidural, (a small catheter in the space around the spinal column) and you're numb from the waist down. I wanted to go home the day after surgery, as I was up and about. My OB doc wouldn't let me, as it wasn't done in those days. Don't think because you're having surgery, you have to stay in bed or are impaired. Not at all.
The risks are minimal, and the incision is barely noticable as time goes on. My stepdaughter is a nurse midwife. That's cool, that some want to have natural childbirth. Are episiotomies still done? I'll have to research it. | |
