Do you like pokora (sp?), those little deep fried dumpling type things with vegetables and presumably minced meat of an animal inside that they sell in Glasgow late night after you come out of a gig or stand-up show? The wife and I want to get the recipe and have a stall in Khao San Rd. selling it to the late night revelers. Man, Glaswegians have liquidised pakora in their babies bottles. My dad told me a story once about the first time he had an Indian meal in the 70's when it was all new in Scotland. When he asked his friend what pakora was, he was told 'Sheep's balls'. He believed it for years. You'll get a recipe off google, not from a young thrister from Scotland where all tastebuds have Downs Syndrome.

When my wife and I were back in the UK for xmas last year we visited my brother in Glasgow. I think it was after a Roots concert actually, but anyway, we stopped to get this stuff my brother said we must try, and Mon loved the stuff. I guess the sauce is kinda spicy and not unlike some Thai dipping sauces.

She's a tomboy, so just help her pick out clothes and hair products and she'll get all misty eyed like the dudes on 'Queer Eye' when the Fab Five have to leave.

I was there too, believe it or not. Small world. Well, fucking huge world actually, but you know what i mean.

No, I'm not sure whether it was that night we got the pakora or not, which makes it even worse to drop it in there really. But hey, we were supposed to see them at the Jazz Cafe in the late 90s and they cancelled and we ended up seeing Courtney Pine instead, so it was a big deal to finally get to see them! Mon had never been to any concert before either, and my brother (who's not into hip-hop at all) was reviewing them for the List or something and thought they were amazing. Anyway, what night were you there? My memory is bad but I think we may have seen them on the 27th. Yep, small world. ... [Edited 12/27/07 8:02am]
