What's your job?????

I am a receptionist and admin. assist.

You know what it is a new year so why not make it your new goal to find a job you do like. You could find another job as a receptionis/administrator at another place. Who knows they may pay better and the co-workers could be better as well. Just think about it.

I can't stand my job, it's unreliable in terms of hours, I'm so ready to quit, but I don't think it would be wise to do so until I find something better. I am considering going back to school though, which will enhance what I studied and take me in a different direction.

Bucket, you need to start some kind of group activity with your workmates, like some kind of pool or something.

no. it's not what i should be doing but i do have the BEST BOSS ever. i am very fortunate. it almost seems criminal what we get away with there. especially considering where i work. lol

if you are truly that unhappy..then follow your passion. or find something that you can do until you do. good luck!

I disagree. I "followed my passion" through undergrad, several low paying jobs, Ivy League grad school and all I have to show for it is massive graduate school debt and a job I strongly dislike that *barely* pays enough to cover my rent. After 10+ years of struggling financially and trying to stay true to myself and get a job that I love and am passionate about, I'm ready to give up. I'm willing to "sell out" to corporate America for the right price--which, according to my calculations, is an exactly 39% increase in my annual salary. shrug
