that's one of my main problem with boats, besides the fact that I'm prone to seasickness. You end up in the same boat with a bunch of people and can't get off! of course, this has only happened to me with close relatives on a small sailboat, but still mad seems to be a recipe for misery.

Ok so yes, I am also pron to seasickness.... Thus my opinion is slightly tainted as well!

Never been on one.

My daughter & I watched a special on the Travel channel about Disney cruises, and now she swears that we're going on one.

I will admit that they seem excellent, but because we are a family of FIVE, the prices are very expensive.

a cruise is something i've always wanted to do. but i dunno about being out in the middle of the ocean with absolutely nothing around. sounds kind of scary. but scary is no reason not to do something.

The best job I ever had was working on a cruise ship. For me, it was like being paid to be on vacation! You get paid minimum wage but make it up in tips and the living quarters are small and cramped but we never spent a whole lotta time in there anyway.

I loved it and would recommend it to anyone who likes to travel wink

there's a bar i go to here on Kauai that is right next to where the cruise ship docks. all of the "boat people" go to it. they all seem to love their job. i'm not sure i could handle being away so much for work. but hell, that's why i'm here anyway, so i guess i could handle it. i'm realizing more and more just how much i can't handle it with each trip here though, so i don't think i'd want to chose another job like that.

funny I was looking at cruises on expedia.com a little while ago. I want to go to one to the caribbean pref. Puerto Rico, but I don't like the idea of being on a ship for seven days. I saw one that was four days, and it was round trip but I'm not sure how I feel about getting off on an island for a couple of hours and not knowing where the hell to go.

Been cruising a bunch...For the money you can not beat it. You can get on a ship depending on which port for as little as $350, that's an inside room with no window. The last one I went on cost me about $1200 per person, suite with a balcony 7 days. That covers all your food and accommodations. They will pretty much plan out your entire trip for you once you reach your destination port if you buy one of their excursion packages. Or do your own research and get away from the crowds. Carnival is probably the cheapest but if you can spare a few extra bucks try Royal Carribean and make sure you get on a good ship.
ENJOY!
