LAST WILL and TESTAMENT

So.

Today I went to a notary and wrote down my Last Will and Testament.

Without getting into details about what goes to whom,
according to my last will:

a) in case of my sudden death, all the healthy organs form my body to be used as transplants. The remaining parts of my body are to be cremated and dropped into sea.

b) I ask not to bury me according to any religious ritual. No tombs, no mass, no nothing.

c) in case of extensive and permanent brain damage, I request my body to be artificially sustained for a period no longer than 2 months.

Have you written down your Last Will / Testament? If not, would you like to?
Have you any specific ideas about what should happen to your body after you're dead?

.

Heads up! If arrangements haven't been made, the government gets a good percentage, from those not having last wills or testaments. Period. If you have any assets, you need to simply dictate where it's going. That's all.

Why two months? If you wait that long, you risk contracting an infection, and not being able to donate organs, not to mention a hospital bill your family has to pay. A cat scan/EEG determines brain death, pretty quickly.

I've made it clear to my family, if brain dead, I want life support removed immediately. I don't want to be on a ventilator, bedridden, with a diaper, tube feedings, bed sores.....
Now that I think of it, I better put it in writing, as my kids may not be able to handle making the decision if my hubby weren't around.

Rushing, how much did it cost you to do this?

I leave my hard disc to Isten.
cool
My Sign O The Times black tourposter to Tron. And all my songs.

I already gave away my lego. My books to Joanne.

For the rest my thingies are awfully the same as Lukasz's; donating all organs to whomever can use it, the rest of me cremated, ashes spread according to my wishes, which is the place where I spread my first bf's ashes. Special place. Protected too, so my loved ones have a place to go.

Nah, I haven't done a Will. When it comes to the stuff I own, my brother gets first dibs and then? Whatever, pretty much.

As long as I'm not cremated, I don't care. I just hope the service isn't long and that there isn't some bullshit preacher/reverend/whatever going on and on about "God". And I don't want any fucking gospel music either.

I completely forgot about this thread because of all that Christmas talk.
But I wanted to thank you. I've changed my last will in case of brain damage.

I though that the two month period would help my family cope with the fact, but that just doesn't make sense. I wrote down my testament also because my best friend's father has suffered his third stroke this summer (90% brain damage) and has ever since in a coma. I see torture that his family undergoes everyday and it breaks my heart. She said herself it would've been a bit easier if had told them what his last will was.

Anyhow, thanks again.
