PrintableI was just getting into the swing of single holidays. I love to retreat into myself, cook a nice meal, speak to no one, and meditate. I mean, really, I couldn't ask for a better holiday than that, that's just my nature.
This year I actually have a partner to share it with  . Already there has been tension about his expectations in receiving material gifts that are nicely wrapped and he can open. (Not going to happen as I only give non-material gifts ). Then there was the 2-hour drive to a four hour Christmas eve service that ended at midnight that I was not particularly keen on. (got cancelled  ) Then there's the push and pull of a vegetarian vs. meat-eating Christmas dinner... Not to mention that our hiking plans involve much negotiation as to the whereabouts...

Not necessarily in that order  My grandfather's name was Sam. A cool man. He was bald and loved ice cream. I'm so much like him, come to think of it...
