MUSIC VIDEO - Subtitles that don't translate This is an interesting approach on music videos from bollywood. The video is translated here, but only in the sense of auditory translation. That is interpreting what is being said in Hindi in actual English words--the subtitles don't actually do a true translation from Hindi to English. I love this song. I'm addicted to the video.

Actually, the Brooklyn poet Louis Zukofsky did the same thing with the Latin poetry of Catullus. He translated the sound into English (not the sense). | |
