So who watches House MD?

I love this show. It's funny, dramatic, amazing, everything. And Hugh Laurie is amazing.
Who else watches? Do you have any favorite episodes? I have just seen "Half-Wit", when he has the musical savant as a patient and fakes cancer to be treated with a new drug. That one was especially great, IMO.

Please be careful with spoilers, I'm in the middle of season 3 and I already know too much of what's coming. confused

Does anyone know if they're being affected by the strike of the writers?

This is an awesome show. For those of you who don't get to see it on FOX, they show repeats on the USA network on Fridays and Saturdays at 11:00 PM EST (10:00 PM CST). My favorite episode was the one where he teaches a class and presents three similar patient scenarios involving a farmer being bit by a snake, a cheerleader breaking her leg, and Carmen Electra, and goes over how the interns have to make a snap judgment of the patient's condition and treatment. As the episode progresses, we find out that the scenarios he taught in class relate to his own condition and explain why he walks with a cane.

Love it. Unfortunately due to my schedule I miss most episodes, even the continues repeats, just like all the other shows I like. Oh, well. shrug I catch it when I can and enjoy it.

I like the show okay, but it's got to be one of the most ridiculous on television.

It's just so formulaic the way they're all so shocked "this time you've crossed the line, House!" And how somehow it really works as medicine when House calls a patient a slut or a loser lol

As for the staff, they treat a patient, he seems to get better, then he gets worse, then they have to basically kill him in order to cure him.

Hugh Laurie is incredibly hot... eek He's such a bitch.. razz

I like the show, although it's the same formula in almost every episode.. lol

    1. Admit patient with dramatic symptoms
    2. Treatment for obvious diagnosis = no worky
    3. BRAINSTORM();
    4. Treatment for new brainstormed diagnosis = no worky
    5. House gets snarky and his deep-seated motivations for taking in this patient are explored
    6. if (!near(end of episode)) { GOTO(BRAINSTORM()); } else { diagnosis = cancer!; }
    7. SURGERY();
    8. No more cancer!
    9. Concluding montage with happy/thoughtful background music
    10. The End

http://hownow.brownpau.co...t_formula/

Still, it's a good show. biggrin

lol lol true

But I did see one episode where they actually did kill the patient, it was all oops we were right the first time, but oh well too late now. Ok, they were sad but still...they'd of been sued bigtime in real life. Oh wait they solved that, their was no friends or family for the patient. Dust off the hands and walk away.

yeah I remember one show where the patient died. I was surprised, but the writers aren't stupid, and it makes it more interesting to see different outcomes from time to time.

House is just a weird mix to me, because it so clearly follows a formula, but it is pretty smart & entertaining.

oh yeah, this is going to be just like the one in the 80s but this time I don't think they are going to settle for a small percentage...they're in it for the long haul.

the best episode was the one where House drugs Wilson's coffee with Speed and he flips out.

Also there have been quite a few episodes that have strayed from the "formula" and have had surprising endings which is always nice

Don't want to spoil anything for anybody, soooo....

POSSIBLE SPOILER COMING!

I thought the episode where they have three sick newborn and two ideas what is wrong. Instead of taking the 50/50 chance that they either heal all three or kill all three, one baby receives one treatment and two babies receive the other. So one dies. Never thought I'd see that. Then they actually show him autopsy the baby.

I also love the episode, in season three but I cannot remember the case they have, where they are in that little church room and House answers their question with a parody on a typical gospel preacher.

And of course each time he's at a piano or guitar is great.

What season are they currently on in the states? I have lost track of what season I was up to seeing before I moved.
I know a new season started, did they finish airing it or did the writers strike mess it up?
I miss that show but the one's they are showing over here are really old but the guide does not say what season they are on.

I need to rent the last season that they were on in the states I suppose, whatever season that is.

The current season on US TV is the 4th (9 episodes aired), the newest you can get on DVD is the 3rd. The official fox site has a countdown to the next episodes but it doesn't show anything at the moment. I guess they are on hold like everyone else.
