But what if there are many homes like that, and the children are raised to think that way. And enough of them make it into important public positions of influence?

I'm not calling for intervenion--I just think it's kind of creepy. Teaching new generations old values.


Taken to an extreme, India has entered a global market, but there are entire regions of major cities that have 'orphaned widows' cause women are viewed as worthless once their child bearing years are over or if their husbands leave them or die.
Certainly the 'pecking order' there , albeit far more extreme than what I'm pointing out here, is still cause for concern. shrug

Parents shouldn't fight over punishment in front of the kids. One parent always ends up looking like the bad guy that way. Parents should show a united front, but as equals.
