So, now I wait until the last minute before I go - in moments like this - when I'm in so much pain... it's my own fault. When I think of dentists, I think of that character portrayed by Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors! I know it's not like that at all... but, damn. I still hate going.  Just to distract you from your painful tooth, have you ever seen the LSH were Jack Nicholson plays the dental patient? Hilarious!!!  I'm firmly planted in denial |

Well, I had oral surgery yesterday. 
I went in to the dentist, who took x-rays and found that the cavity is in my wisdom tooth, upper right. I also had a "dead tooth" right next to it, meaning there was no nerve joining it to the bone. It had "meshed" in with the bone and was pretty much just existing. So, instead of a basic drill and fill, I ended up going to a surgeon, being "put out", then operated on. I woke up with a bloody mouth, and on vicadin. I was "out of it" for the rest of the day, yesterday. Today I woke up feeling a little groggy, popped some more vicadin, took some anti-bacterial meds, and laid around for a bit. Now, I feel back to normal, except for the haziness from the meds. Overall... a very interesting trip to the dentist.  |
