i'm SERIOUSLY considering getting my Toungue Pierced... r there any Men & or WoMen out there who have em? & have they caused u any difficulties since u've had em?

Far too trendy... I would skip it.

I had one, and as a result, lost a chunk of one of my molars. If you get it done, I'd recommend getting a barbell wth plastic balls at the end (mine were metal).

I chipped my front tooth. I kinda like it though, it makes me look all ghetto n shit...

Well, I have one and have wanted one for 6years! I got it done ..rather...i got brave the 1st and only snow day in Atlanta back in January!! It didnt hurt to get it pierced but a hour after... OMG!!! Just eat ice chips (btw.. be careful you might bite the ring) and drink lots of cold water (even though beer might be more appealing)!! I thought after a week or two( yes you might still be talking funny) that I wanted to take it out(thought it would heal a lil faster than it did) but I kept it in and now... i love it!! It's for me (my hubby wasn't too thrilled about it at 1st but now he likes it!)!! You can't see it when I talk so I haven't had a problem with it at work.
P.S. Make sure you get it done by a professional, follow all directions (keeping it clean), and please dont take it out until they say it's ok because it will hurt to put back in because it will start to heal itself!!

I would suggest that if anyone is going to get their tongue pierced to get the plastic beads on the barbell. That way you won't kill your teeth.

Don't they heal up very quickly if you take the barbel out? My roommie had hers in for a year, then took it out and it was gone by the next day (thank goodness it was intentionally done). She has a tiny scar that no one but herself can see.

Got mine done 6 years ago. Hurt like hell because I talk alot. Plus I had it done farther back than normal.
Could'nt stopped talking right after it was done. So I think that made it hurt more.
Drank milk shakes & ate puddin all week. Tongue got really swollen.
Replaced it with a larger post then I swallowed the top ball. I Could feel the ball stuck in my throat for a few days. I was out of town when this happened, so I was frantically searching for a alnight place to replace it b4 it closed.
Chipped a molar too which costs $75 to repair.

Id never pierce it again.
