The one that comes to mind at the moment was seeing Peter Parker awkwardly web-slinging his way through the concrete jungle of New York in the first "Spider-man" movie.

The opening scene of the Lion King when the music swells and Rafiki hoists baby Simba.

I will NEVER forget the first time I saw it (the opening scene was the preview...) before Sister Act. I had total goosebumps and teared up. It still gets me every single time!

And the opening of the Broadway musical is almost better smile smile

There's a movie called LET'S SCARE JESSICA TO DEATH. I watched it when I was very young. There's a scene where this ghost woman walks out of a lake. That scene has always haunted me.

There's a scene in 'Halloween' when Jamie Lee Curtis discovers all of her friends dead in this house. One by one, their bodies are revealed to her and she collapses sobbing against a wall next to a dark doorway...

...and slowly, materializing out of the darkness of that hallway is the face of Michael Myers...

I don't care how many times I've seen it, it's still scary as hell...

5:45 of this clip... watch the whole thing, though... alone...

[Edited 12/16/07 22:54pm]

Absolutely! One of the scariest scenes EVER!

Also, later on when she stabs Michael Meyer for the first time, and she's sobbing while he's laying on the floor. At the movie theatre, I actually shouted to the screen, "Turn around! He;s not dead!"

And sure enough, he rose...YIKES!

The dress she's wearing is like an old fashioned wedding dress. Creepy!!! A neighbor and friend of the family died around that time and she was buried in her wedding dress. That sent me over the top.

Albert Magnoli has said that scene was filmed twice and that Prince actually threw himself into the fall. Never even flinched.

I always get goosebumps when the opening title "flies" across the screen in Gone With the Wind. I've seen that film at least three dozen times and it still gets me. cool

The part where the girl comes out of the t.v., I believe, is better in the original. It's so much more claustrophobic.

Oooooh! Good one. I remember how he stands up and that music plays. My eyes were literally like eek THIS IS AWESOME BEYOND WORDS.

I remember first time I saw the Matrix I knew it was hyped but didn't know why, and they Trinity did that famous kick in bullet time and I *knew* it was gonna be amazing.

Shame about the 2nd (not too bad) and then the 3rd (bad). sad
