about 40% done. I'm actually going to paint over the woman in front as she's just not rendered well at all. OK. That's it. We're getting married. :i-do:

Poster I created for a non-existent movie called "Pain"...everyone had to pick both a photo of a letter and a random photo image, then we had our selections randomly given to another classmate who had to come up with a poster for a movie using only the letter and the one photo (along with fake movie times, etc.). Someone picked a neon photo of the letter "A" and a shot of a guy getting his forehead tattoed with a "666"...and lucky me, I was assigned his choices lol...

Okay sorry for the long post, but art is my thing...
My favorite painting: The Innocent Eye Test by Mark Tansey (at the Met in NYC) Boite-en-Valise by Marcel Duchamp L.H.O.O.Q. by Duchamp (If you say the letters in French it sounds like, "Elle a chaud au cul" which translates to "She has a hot ass.") This was going to be my Halloween costume until I had to work. Self-Portrait as a Fountain (Bruce Nauman's nod to Duchamp's Fountain) One of the few old school/religious paintings I like: The Annuciation by Simone Martini. I just love how pissed Mary looks when Gabriel tells her she's preggers. Film stills from Shirin Neshat's video work "Turbulent" Film stills from William Kentridge's film "Felix in Exile." The one on the left is from when it screened in Central Park. (It was pouring rain, but they don't exhibit his films very much so we all stayed.) Yves Klein "Leap Into the Void" (Also at the Met) Yinka Shonibare: A Day in the Life of a Victorian Dandy (Yinka is the dandy.) Gustave Moreau's Salome A Basholi manuscript depicting a scene from the Gitagovinda--Krishna Embracing the Gopis. The jewels in their ears and Krishna's crown are made with beetle wings--they are this beautiful irirdescent green color. Mies van der Rohe's Seagram Building here in New York . Gotta love Sebastien! I used to think you made such statements with an intellectual flare. A certain Je ne sais quoi, masked by exuding confidence if you will. But now I know you're saying these statements like Richard Dryfuss at a baseball game rooting for his favorite player.

Well, can I at least be young, brooding, chip-on-his-shoulder Dreyfuss... ...not older, pretentious Papa Smurf Dreyfuss? Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I fell in love with this when I went to the Louvre. WOW! What I loved was the story behind it. Marsyas challenged a God to play music. The God won and tied him up. MARSYAS was a Phrygian Satyr who first composed tunes for the flute. He obtained his instrument from Athena, who had invented the device but discarded it in her displeasure over the bloating effect on the cheeks. Later, in hubristic pride over the new-found music, Marsyas dared challenge the god Apollon to a contest. The Satyr inevitably lost, when, in the second round, the god demanded they play their instruments upsidedown--a feat ill-suited to the flute. As punishment for his presumption, Apollon had Marsyas tied to a tree and flayed him alive. The rustic gods in their pity then transformed him into a mountain stream. I fell in love with this when I went to the Louvre. OMG, the craftsmanship and feeling it evokes is powerful. Makes me uncomfortable, and filled with a bit if pity though. The Louvre is so packed with incredible works that it's dizzying. Definitely a must-see each time I've gone to Paris.
