CarrieMpls and Imago.......I finally saw it.

This was my kind of movie. Family, love, music and dancing. Of course I was in tears a couple of times. I especially love how 3/4 of the way it turns almost into a different genre of movies.

I also watched the documentaries about the Von Trapp family. It was very very interesting.

I flipped out when I saw the Baroness. She reminded me of how my mom used to look when she was very young. The actresses name Eleanor Parker.

We really should do a Salzburg invasion one day. Like maybe just 3 days in the area. I'd love to drive out to Halstatt again and see the lakeside town.

It's gorgeous, and the Sound of Music tour is relatively cheap (I think it's 30 US dollars), and includes a nice 1.5 hours in the town the wedding scene was filmed in (for lunch and to view the cathedral).

woot!

I knew you'd love it!

I saw a stage production of it this last Wednesday night and it was quite fun. I teared up during nearly every song. touched The actors playing Maria and Capt Von Trap were competent but nothing special, but the children and the nuns were AMAZING. I looked forward to every scene they were in!

I would love to see a live version of this movie.

I started bawlin' when the Captain goes in the room where the kids are singing and start singing along with them. Oh lawd!! I loved the scene where Maria finally decides to tell the captain off.

Ditto. I saw the part where Julie Andrews arrived. It was good but I had to go do something else. I'd like to watch this movie some day.

However, I hope it doesn't fall into the same category as "The Godfather". I never saw that movie until a couple years ago, and I was sorely disappointed.
