But I think in most cases they are out of jealousy and I don't care. I had that happen when we were taking this pic: I kind of let this just pass without asking my question, but it's as good as time as any. Disregarding the 2 "extremes" this picture poses skinny vs heavy , what about the woman 3rd in from the right, I wouldn't classify her as either, but would she be the curvy that is being referred to as the more desireable? Yes I think she is She is the doctor and most of the male patients that come in drool over her. she is very attractive...lots of curves. She calls herself fat.. I wish I was fat like that.

I'm 5'11, Size 15, got crimson-colored, curly hair, and I'm sort of looking at this article like general consensus but not total truth..... [Edited 12/14/07 20:13pm]

For example, although she's engaged and, as a result has broken my heart, Nelly Furtado is the perfect example of what I like.

Im 5"2 (on a good day) and fluctuate between 120-130 pounds. I'm a very curvy person, and I am Ok with that. My doc says I should be between 110-115 pounds.
Ive been there before, and it may look Ok on some women, it doesnt look good on me. Different women, different shapes, but we are all beautiful. Its not what a man likes, its what you are comfortable with. A man should love you for who you are, and not what you weigh. Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize u simply imagined this So u lean over and give her a kiss Here on earth, here on earth, with u it's not so bad Here on earth, here on earth eye don't feel so sad Stay right here

And I swear to God, next time a complete stranger asks me if I'm anorexic I'm going to punch them in the neck. : I hear ya! There was one of our patients at work that said " what do you ppl only hire anorexics?" My boss and I are not really that skinny, we have curves but this lady was obese so I guess it made her feel better to say that... I guess so. All the bigger girls I know can't seem to help but constantly make comments not only about my size but that of other small girls too. If it's inappropriate to comment on a big girl's weight (and it is!) what makes them think it's okay to do the same to someone who's skinny? "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

JustErin said: meow85 said: You try going store to store to store trying to find a place that actually stocks size 0 and get back to me on that. Given the upswing in the collective weight of the population, many places won't carry anything smaller than a 5 now. To top it off, I'm short to boot. (No joke, I'd make Prince look tall) So even on the rare occasion I find pants that fit, I've still got to get about a foot chopped off the legs so I can wear them. Currently, I own exactly 2 pairs of pants. The point is, we've all got something about us that doesn't fit the so-called ideal, and we all know the pictures in magazines are pure, unadultered bullshit. So why do people keep falling for it? I'm not sure what part of Canada you live in exactly but everywhere I have shopped (Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, even the Maritimes) carries size "0" and even "00" and plenty of it. God, how I wish I lived in a real city like those. I'm in Kelowna. For all intents and purposes it's a decent sized city, but not that you'd know it. Once upon a time Kelowna was a small town and the city's stubbornly clinging to that far all it's worth, including its retail selection. Most stores' smallest sizes are just too big. The majority of what I wear has to come out of the kids section. Oh, what a joy that is. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

my wife gets bent outta shape 'cause all the "cute" clothes she finds are always tiny sizes and that anything above a size 5 is great if you wanna dress sharp for an AARP meeting... Funny. All the clothes I want to wear are in normal women's sizing, and any of the rare stuff petite enough pour moi tends toward preciousness. Even in adult sizing, there's a horrifying amount of pastels and bows. :wtf: "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

So leave that message alone and pick up something worth reading. Why even bother with shit like Cosmo, a magazine whose sole purpose is to make it's readers feel like shit so they rush out and buy things? How about a good novel? How about a women's magazine like Bitch? Or a general interest one like Mental Floss? Hell, why not even a textbook or the back of a matchbook over traditional women's titles like Cosmo, Vogue, etc.? How right you are. I find it surprisingly simple to ignore fashion, and still look good.
