Does anyone else here hate seeing themselves on camera? OK, so I just saw footage of a sermon I delivered last month. The sermon was great (if I say so myself  ), but seeing myself on camera was TORTUROUS!!  I'm all goofy-looking with odd gestures and I talk like a black Richard Dreyfuss! 
I need some cool lessons. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I hate myself on camera, and especially on a recording. I remember once, when I was a teenager, my dad tape recorded me. I told him that I sounded like "a retarded girl". I hate the way my voice sounds on tape, my voice is just yucky sounding. [Edited 12/13/07 19:20pm] RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you. | |

you just gotta stop looking at yourself so much
my mum rips up perfectly good photos of herself and goes on and on about how awful she looks, how ridiculous she sounds, and we're like  mum, you ALWAYS look and sound like that!!!! I can watch my wedding video by not looking at myself, and trusting other people if they say I look good,, or my voice sounds nice, they should know, they are the ones who see me and listen to me all the time, they should know | |

When I visited my parents for Thanksgiving, my mom wanted help setting up her VCR/DVD player. So, when I get everything operable, I ask what she's going to watch.
"Oh, a tape from that time you sang and played the guitar in church..." I high-tailed it outta that room so fast... | |

I hate photos of me, I definitely NEVER want to see video. If there's a video camera around, I often offer to shoot, so's I don't have to be in it at all. If that's not possible, I simply make sure I'm as far out of the line of sight as possible.
HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!! I prefer to "see" myself how I look in my head. And I look a lot better there, thanks. |

Even though I hate my voice, amazingly I'd rather see myself on video than stills. I cannot believe I can look in the mirror and think I look cute and then a picture is taken and I'm like WHAT THE FUCK THAT IS NOT WHAT I SEE!
