It's a tradition in some families. How many people do you know, who grew up on a ranch or farm, who didn't hunt, or have a shotgun in the house? I didn't grow up around farms so I guess the answer is zero 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

We used to go on hunting trips and one time I went alone with my stepdad at 12 and they made me sit and watch them kill a rabbit and then laughed at me for crying. I really despise the notion of hunting for sport because it teaches males lots of fucked up shit, including that they aren't men if they have feelings and are more of a man for killing something for fun. I'm sickened by the gun and hunting culture in this cuntry. I am positive there are far fewer hunters than non-hunters in America. Hell, even in Texas. Among Gun owners or the population in general? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I would never dream of trying to bond with my son, or anyone else for that matter, by taking them on a killing trip. I've never known anyone, man or woman who would do that. Your generalisation must come from somewhere. What kind of men do you hang out with? What the hell are you talking about? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I can live with that. You're friends with Ted Nugent? I have a story to tell about Ted(a friend has a ranch in Transvaal): He was hunting in Africa, shot a rhino with a bow, and it took days to track the animal. He had to leave for a concert or something, and the outfitter tracked the animal. The government banned bow hunting pachyderms after that. The hunt was extremely expensive ($300,000) and a good portion used to prevent poaching, which is a problem in South Africa. African big game animals shouldn't have been hunted with a bow.

I just don't feel that killing something should be cause for celebration. right on anyone who eats meat shouldn't comment ; murder is murder ; be it a pig or a bear [Edited 12/11/07 17:43pm]

But I'm still going to try to leave it alone. Though, I believe it's a natural thing for us to eat meat, there's no way I want to support the meat industry with their terrible ways of killing. small circles, big wheels!

Maybe if you "exploded" closer to camp, they'd stop bringing you along!! Particularily, if camp were down wind.....Supa, you needed a little more strategy.

Then you should support hunting, as it is a more human way to kill and if done correctly, is the way we humans have gotten our meat for millions of years. A large percentage of the meat i eat has been hunted. those who eat meat and don't kill are monsters in my opinion, fat leaches who nourish themselves on the blood spilled by others. Hunting caused our ancestors to get down out of the trees, none of our civilization would exist without killing.
