when it is so far that you need that needle, you are in no state to even realise it, but i know the feeling you mean. i have been lucky enough never to have spent a nite in a hospital, and the closest I ever got to a hospital bed was when my ex was in intensive care, she was on the drip (IV) and i used to have to eat her food, i was shocked, as I was a person that would not even enter a hospital let alone eat food in one, when i was young, but it was funny and as she recovered, she changed my attitude about hospitals completely, untill we ended up in one in Greece, but that is another story
