The chinese - Foot Binding

What do you think of chinese foot binding? I mean is this tradition and should be accepted, isnt it against women in general?

I wonder how this has been treated like in Europe. There are some surgeons who deliberately do this. Does anyone know what the legislation is? Probably not, but i though i ask... wink

I saw a documentary on it, and there are very few elderly women left with bound feet. confuse

banned where? If it is tradition and culture it can never be banned, i know they are doing in it, there are surgeons who specialize in that, but i wondered what the attitude of human right orgs etc. were on this topic.

I ask cause i know of a surgeon.

yes

and prince.org actually has the ambition to become part of the Q'ran.

In Chinese ancient tradition the concepts of nei (inside) and wai (outside) were very important. Nei was for the females who had to perform in and around the house, while wai was for males who went out to work in the fields. Foot binding was actually the physical representation of nei, limiting females to only travel very short distances.

Feet are also prominent in Asian erotic experience.

i think it is up to people what they want to do regardless if it is allowed or not, and there are countries where woman rights are limited, and yes i think it is still being done.

I think they need serious orthopaedic and plastic surgery to replicate this.

I don't think just a cosmetic surgeon can help in either creating this or correcting this confused
