exhibit 1: The Turtle

One day I was going down the sidewalk when I saw a turtle emerge from the entrance of a park toward the busy street. I was in a bit of a hurry so I went past it at first. I wasn't sure if it would be smart enough to keep from getting squished so I turned around to see if I could help. I couldn't reach it so I went in front of it to hopefully urge it to turn around. The turtle turned around and I followed it all the way back into the park until he scurried down a bank into the creek.

exhibit 2: Crying

Compassion is the foundation of kindness, and what is more evident of compassion than a crying man? I cried at the end of Cool Runnings, and also at the end of Bloodsport when Van Damm gave that guy his bandana back. I cried because my inherent kindness allowed me to empathize with the protagonists.

exhibit 3: The Entertainer

I was accompanying some of my friends to a local night club of their choosing when I found myself engaged in conversation with one of the entertainers employed there. After some emotional barriers were uncovered, the young woman informed me that she had found herself in the unfortunate situation of having to raise a son without the presence of a father (who I assume had passed away shortly after the child's birth). I was told it was customary to give these entertainers a gratuity for their time, and upon remittance I appended the recommended amount with an additional $40.00 U.S. out of sympathy for the woman's financial plight.

i should explain that the actions i take and eccentric tendencies that i display in pursuit of romantic engagements in no way take into account the asymptotically infinitessimal probability that i have in succeeding. that said, the endeavor is, in and of itself is an enriching experience regardless of the inevitably disheartening outcome.
