Through the worst of it earlier this week I didn't go more than 20 miles an hour on the freeway, and you leave a stopping distance of about 8 car lengths in front of you. interesting.I guess you just have to give yourself alot of time,so you don't arrive at work late? The plow and salt the streets and highways, so after a couple of days it's back to normal(ish).

I love living in Minnesota but when November hits I start to dread winter and the first snow storm. I absolutely hate driving in snow. It makes me so nervous that when I get home my arms are stiff. I guess spinning in your car and doing a 180 degree turn so you are facing the traffic you were just driving with on the freeway might do that to you. I once saw a SUV slide across 3 lanes of traffic and fly into a ditch. That was freaky.
I love everything else about winter...sledding, searching for the medallion. This year, I'm trying to embrace it more. I've found I enjoy shoveling, it's really good exercise and you stay warm as you do it. I want to get out this year and do some cross country skiing or some snow shoeing. I've started putting on relaxing music as I drive and just taking it slow. What else can I do I live in Minnesota and I'm not planing on leaving anytime soon except for a quick trip to Vegas in the middle of January. -Dean is the cheese to my macaroni-

You know, I embraced it whole heartedly last year and even got into shoveling and such. But my car isn't cooperating nicely this year and it really is the driving thing I hate so much. And the snow started so EARLY this year. Yuck. |

It's 25 degrees here in Iowa and still snowing. I don't mind the snow, I just hate the driving conditions. And I loathe shoveling out my driveway after the snow plow has blocked me in. And I hate getting up all early and shit to get to work. But other than that, it's okay.

I swear the sap is hardening in my old limbs and I have a hard time even making myself go outside sometimes. I can handle the snow and ice around the holidays, but after Jan 1, I've had enough. It gets old fast. The long hours of darkness, the feeling stir crazy and restless, the S.A.D. - it's gets unbearable at times. Let's go rent a little villa in South America, say Peru or Brazil and just do watercolor, go swimming and drink cocktails until April. How's that sound? You could always come to my island. There's room. It's a little rainy at the moment, though. But they say it'll pass. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran
