no no no! Women have it far worse than men when it comes to being judged on looks. Sure to a certain degree men are judged as well, but no way near as much as women.

That's what I meant. I mean, it sucked for me because I had a few schoolboy crushes for girls that were cute, but I began getting frumpy and chubby around the second grade and stayed that way up until I was sixteen years old and now I maintain. I actually used to be thin from the times I was born to the time I was eight. So thin that my head was like that my head stood out like that animated martian character would always ask, "WHERE IS THE MODULATOR??!!!?" I ad the pencilneck to go with it and everything.

But, I never received the type of pointing and staring treatment that a lot of women have that I would see receiving it. Women are pressured "MORE" than men to keep their weight. Common knowledge, dude! Just look at Christopher Wallace, man! I mean, sure. He might be deceased. But, while he was alive, he got around. Big Pun. Ya think he didn't get the ladies (Married or not.)? If so, think again! Dudes can have it bad. But, not as bad as the women.....

That's not a "weight" thing, that's a MONEY thing.

Same could be said for Oprah. Like Stedman would be there if she wasn't rich.
Ditto for Star Jones' man.

Sure women get worse somewhat, but it's not COMPLETELY one-sided. Not even close.

Beyonce is curvy. JLo is curvy....and Jennifer is curvy....I say much love to her for NOT looking like Paris and Nicole. They look nasty and sick.

Such hypocrisy. So it's ok to be judgmental towards women who are either in shape or thin, but how dare anybody judge a woman who is overweight?? rolleyes

Oh, and by the way, these pictures are NOT the same thing as Jennifer Love Hewitt 's out of shape body!!!

Who is judging someone who is in shape? I think most have said that she could use some toning up. The ass is a little droppy BUT she's not bad looking at all. shrug I'm sorry...Nicole looks sick. Oh well. Paris maybe finally eating food now...not as bad but still too thin in my book.

First of all, my opinion is just that. MY OPINION.

Secondly, and i feel i say this all the time in here, i'm here to discuss topics that i find interesting. Sometimes i'm in agreement with the majority, but more often than not i'm in the minority and that's just fine by me considering I'M NOT HERE TO MAKE FRIENDS OR TO TROLL FOR "CYBER-DATES". I could careless if anyone in here likes or agrees with me EVER.

Now, to the point at hand.

Count me as one of those that used to be really hot for JLH a few years back before her ass and legs exploded. She wasn't a "twig". She was "in-shape". I tend to go for brunettes, and yeah her kick-ass rack surely helped the cause.

Of COURSE, i hold her to a higher standard than i would a normal girl for the following reasons. A) SHE MAKES A TON OF FREAKING MONEY. She most likely blows in a month what some people in here probably make in a year. Certainly enough to hire a nutritionist and a trainer. B) She gets PAID this ridiculous amounts of money to be on TELEVISION. Not radio, she's not an author, she gets paid for the most part, BASED ON HOW SHE LOOKS.

Now, if she's "met the man of her dreams" and feels all of a sudden comfortable putting on about 40 pounds around the hips, waist and legs, fine. So be it. She's also painfully aware of the fact that she's famous, and if she's on vacation there's probably going to be some pictures taken. WOULD IT KILL YOU TO THROW ON A ONE-PIECE??? Then, problem solved!!!! Wear a sarong!!! Then there's nothing to talk about? Don't throw on a little ass bikini and then be shocked that people noticed that you've inhaled a cake or two.

So there you go. If she was a normal girl looking like that, of course i'd probably do it. She's still a pretty girl. Doesn't mean i can't notice that she looked A TON BETTER before she let herself go.

And don't worry 'bout me ladies.
I do alright with ya'll. wink

40 pounds?? She said that she is a size 2! I am not sure about that but she looks like she is a 5/6 tops. And I am sorry, but that is not fat. He butt may have gotten a bit flabby, but in my world, men like a big fat ass!! (and god bless them for it) This world is so sick. A 5/6 was the standard size for models just a few years back.... now if you are not a 0/2 you are fat. SICK!!!!! stab uzi hammer punch missile chair

Oh give me a break. Fat men and women who are broke asses are in relationships. all around us. The difference is that women are criticized far more than men for their looks in general.

You're trying to tell us that Oprah is a useless person and not attractive to anyone because she is overweight? That no man could possibly love her and they just use her for her money? What a retarded thing to say. lol

And, for better or worse, women are starting to be more demanding of men because they are such targets themselves. Many of them think...well, if I have to be perfect he should too.

It's not one sided...sure, but in no way is it even remotely close to the same for both sexes.

Well, I mean.....yeah. You're right to some extent. Money make-a-tha whirled go 'round! But, at the same time, there comes charisma as a factor. I don't think that if those dudes didn't have "SOME" type of charm to them, that they would be getting women constantly fighting over them for nothing. There's many factors that come in to play, within that subject. But, hell. I heard that "Big Pun" was a model before he pursued rapping. You know, the dude wasn't "UGLY" before or after the weight gain. Just uncomfortably built. I mean, I wouldn't have minded looking like him before the weight gain.

I seen him "AND" heard his raps before the weight gain. Needless to say, his slimmer self was a more talented rapper as I actually understood what the hell he was saying. Now, Christopher Wallace always could rap. Famous or not. Before I go off on a tangent, I see what you're saying....

Where exactly did i say that "fat people are useless and doomed to a life of solitude"? Um, nowhere????

There are fat folks all over the world, doing their thing.

Someone used the example of Notorious B.I.G and Big Pun getting hot chicks even though they're big. I said that's an example of celebrity and then drew a line to Oprah and Star Jones. Didn't say they were "useless". I said if they weren't RICH they probably wouldn't have the caliber of guy that they have.

And AGAIN, i think women like to whine about this shit.
Sure they're judged somewhat to a higher standard, but in these days of the "metrosexual" that gap is closing ladies. And you know it.

And another thing, here's WHY i don't feel bad for ya'll.

lol OMG - are you saying Salma & Beyonce are fat or something??? omfg Salma is NOT pregnant in that pic, she looks fantastic. Her body is amazing. Beyonce looks good whether she's at "fighting weight" or not.

I guess I can't blame you for being brainwashed in your thinking, it's kind of typical of men these days (sadly). I have no words for Paris... Nicole hasn't looked "good" or "healthy" in quite a while. When she slimmed down initially she was fine but she immediately took it too far & has been a bone ever since...

Damn, I can't believe you think Salma looks "wide" in that pic lol hammer That's what ALL women should look like exclaim

No, what i'm saying is the following.
Salma Hayek's always been a good kind of "thick". Been in love with her since that amazing scene where we saw her for the first time in "Desperado". In that pic above, she looks thicker around the face, neck and hips. Not "fat", "thicker".

I've never been into Beyonce that much, but in the pic above that's the hottest she's ever looked, because she knew she was posing for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She looks amazing in that shot. She normally doesn't look THAT good.

I've never thought Nicole Richie was hot regardless of the weight, because her raccoon eyes bug the crap out of me.

And, Paris Hilton just isn't my type. I don't go for blondes. I think she looks pretty good for her weight, but i guess i'm not attracted to the rich, vapid heiress type. I've seen some pics of her where she looks pretty good and some where she looks pretty haggard.

For the record Beyonce's cover of SI is known as the most photoshopped cover of the year. I read somewhere that someone knew the person who did the photoshopping and said that he had never seen a pic with that much work done in his career. Someone who is that curvy is always going to have some cellulite and lumps and bumps, and GASP!!! MAYBE FOLDS OF FLABBY SKIN!!(omg FAINTS..confused ) What do you think the curves are made up of?? Yes, its bone structure, but some of it is fat too. I know men don't want to believe it, but its true. Just for the record, B looks fabulous and I think she has one of the best figures in the business. I love that chicks who have real bodies, and bootylicous curves are making waves. It just sucks that this society is so brainwashed, and can't admire their beauty. They just love to trash anyone over size 4.

She was slightly bending over (notice her knees are bent) in this pic. So any fold of the bottom of her ass would be smoothed out. I have seen a pic of B where she was standing in a bikini, with the same pose as JLH, and her ass did the same "flab fold" over at the bottom like JLH's ass. So don't hate. That is standard of fat asses. I wish I remember where I saw it.....

Really, Erin?
How am i "that stupid"?

Women are "supposed to carry some extra weight in certain areas"?
Is that a fact or an excuse? I don't think there's a health expert in the country THESE days that thinks that?

We are UNHEALTHY. Pick your debate. Are we talking fashion-wise or health-wise? Fashion-wise, you "might" have something to debate. Health-wise you don't! Period!!!! Recent studies have proven that even being slightly overweight shortens your life-span.

And really, Erin. Do you feel like "shit"?
Because i wouldn't count myself as an "Org-regular", but even i can see there's LINES of people in here that think you're the bees knees. So pardon me if i don't think you have it THAT bad.

You people do realize that cellulite happens pretty much to all women no matter their weight? It's natural, and can't be helped or treated. You do get that right??

Even the fittest of women can get it. Even the thinnest.

So what then? Women are just naturally designed unattractive to you guys?

Being self-absorbed and obsessed on people's looks will really take one far. When you're old and you've made decisions based on superficial horse shit (like how perfect you are), you'll be alone in a house full of cats, all wrinkles, talking about how hot you were when you were young.

Maybe you'll be so healthy and then a bus runs you over, really in shape/healthy going to do you a lot of good then, maybe your attractive friends will all come running lol

Healthy is one thing but JLH doesn't look unhealthy, she just looks like she could be a little healthier. While beauty is only skin deep, the ugliness of people's minds here is straight to the bone.

You people do realize that cellulite happens pretty much to all women no matter their weight? It's natural, and can't be helped or treated. You do get that right??

Even the fittest of women can get it. Even the thinnest.

So what then? Women are just naturally designed unattractive to you guys?

I wouldn't judge women to that extent. I don't like to be as judgmental as I tend to be. But, I feel as if "FOR MOST HUMAN BEINGS" it is natural for us to prejudge, no matter the circumstances. But, those women that you posted weren't women that I'd gawk at. Perhaps Uma Thurman if I'm in the mood, but not by much. Even you can be judgmental. None of us are high and almighty. But, I try to be as courteous as possible from that aspect.

HAHAHAHA!

Ok, you ARE that stupid.

Caliber!!! falloff

And no one wants to whine about something that makes us feel like utter shit because we don't fit into this unnatural standard many men have (yes, unnatural as women are supposed to carry some extra weight in certain areas).

Please. rolleyes

It's also interesting to me that often the most critical ones are the same ones that do not fit into that standard themselves.

Fashion-wise, you "might" something to debate.

Keep it real, girly.

Let's do keep it real.

A little extra weight on your hips and thighs does NOT make you unhealthy. It does not shorten your lifespan. If you're going to talk about this at least get your facts straight. The extra weight that puts you at risk is called vicseral fat and it only gathers on your belly.

A women with a little meat on her ass and thighs and with "grandma legs" is not risking her health.

And yes, women are naturally carriers of more fat then men, it's in our biology. You can fight it for sure, by starving yourself, working out to an extreme but that doesn't mean that the end result is "natural". The second you stop fighting it, you go back to what your body is supposed to look like.

But you go right ahead and live in your fantasy land.

nod it's done to all promo shots, then as soon as an unflattering paparazzi shot is published, then it's all "my! she HAS let herself go!" rolleyes

Exactly! Because we're all so used to seeing the airbrushed result and think that's "normal".

Didn't say "cellulite" = "ugly".

Said, JLH's ass looked unattractive in that bikini.

And PLEASE tell me that you're not trotting out the Enquirer and Star Magazine as examples. Please??

You think cellulite is ok then? Why should she cover her ass?

And no, I knew that Paris had been picked on for having cellulite so I did a search on her name.

No woman (OR MAN!!) looks like they did in their 20's. I guess if I compared pics of Salma in her 20's vs a year ago she would have put on the slightest bit of weight BUT it's all in the right places & she's never looked anything short of amazing imo...

Bey's weight goes up & down but she has yet to go too far in either direction...

Fuck Paris & Nicole lol

bananadance

Actually, not to brag (well, okay i guess i am a little) i'm the same size i was in high school. And i've worked HARD to keep it that way. Of course she looks beautiful in the pic above, but she's looked not as thick in the face and neck. I'm betting she was pregnant in that pic.

I wouldn't fuck Paris or Nicole with a body condom.

And again, i know it's not the popular opinion but here's my take on "society's view of women". There are times where they get a little out of hand (i.e. Twiggy in the 60's, Kate Moss in the 90's) but i think for the most part they get it right.

The problem is America's lazy and fat and PC, and wants to make an excuse for EVERYTHING. We're the FATTEST AND UNHEALTHIEST nation in the ENTIRE WORLD.

IF that were JLH's size, then it is. But it's NOT. That ass isn't just FAT, it's SLOPPY. That's not "genetics", that's "pie". And considering UNLIKE most Americans in today's economy that might have an excuse for being out of shape (working lots of hours, less money usually translates to poor eating habits, FAST FOOD) she doesn't have that excuse. I'm sorry, but SHE'S LOOKED BETTER. That's not me trying to "tear her down", that's just a fact.

Interesting,... does not seem like much else has changed. Obviously you have the same mentality that you had in high school to match your size. Its amazing to me that someone would flaunt this, and at the same time make such "high school" remarks. Disgustingly superficial....

Cellulite is a fact of life for the most part.
She should PICK A DIFFERENT BATHING SUIT.
She doesn't look good IN THAT ONE.

Star and the Enquirer will print just about ANYTHING to sell papers.

You're entitled to your opinion, OR the other way to look at that is i'm talking from EXPERIENCE.

You can let food and laziness rule and shorten your life, or you can TAKE CONTROL.

You can call it "flaunting".
Again, i've worked hard and mind you it takes a LOT of discipline to have the strict diet that I have.

Again, if you have flaws it's good fashion sense to NOT HIGHLIGHT THEM. That goes for men AND women.

No one has to be "perfect". No one is. CERTAINLY not me.

I am loving this little discussion though. Probably one of the most interesting since the PFU thing went down.

Again, i'm not feeling too much sympathy for a girl with limited acting skills who got famous for being hot having a fit for people noticing that she's let herself go. None at all.

You can make assumptions from that as to what kind of person i may or may not be in real life, what kind of person i am, who i may choose to date or not date, how intelligent or shallow i may be, etc.

And it's fine!!! Really! Because at the end of the day (and here's where i think JLH and Prince should take notes) it doesn't matter what people who don't know you and don't contribute to your life think about you.

So i'm gonna keep on speaking my mind.
Some of ya'll will agree with me, most of ya'll won't.

But at least, the conversations will be lively.

wink

WASHINGTON - Bad news for all those baby boomers starting to pile on the pounds as they go through middle age: You don't have to be obese, just a little overweight, to increase your risk of dying prematurely, according to a large government study.

The 10-year study of more than 500,000 U.S. adults found that those who were just slightly overweight in their 50s were 20 to 40 percent more likely to die in the next decade. Another study involving more than 1 million South Korean adults, also being published in this week's New England Journal of Medicine, produced similar results.

The studies, both released Tuesday, were aimed at helping resolve a long debate over whether the millions of Americans who are not obese but are nevertheless considered overweight are at significant risk. advertisement

"These findings are very important," said Michael Leitzmann of the National Cancer Institute, which led the U.S. study. "A substantial proportion of the population in the U.S. is overweight. So if overweight is related to premature death, that's very important to public health."

The findings are particularly relevant to the large number of baby boomers who are going through that critical period of middle age when people typically gain weight.

"What we need to do is try to encourage people to maintain a healthy weight and avoid weight gain," Leitzmann said.

The findings were welcomed by public health and obesity experts as powerful new evidence that people should do whatever they can to maintain a healthful weight.

"The take-home message is that if you are not obese but just overweight, it's still a good idea to lose weight," said Thomas Wadden, president of the Obesity Society. "It's kind of a bummer, but maybe this will help motivate people that it's time to do something about their weight."

Skeptics, however, remain unconvinced, saying the analysis was flawed and would alarm people unnecessarily.

"I think they are just adding to the obesity hysteria," said Glenn Gaesser of the University of Virginia at Charlottesville. "They are presenting the data in a way that paints overweight and obesity in the worst possible light. It's not as bad as they make it seem."

Studies clearly show that obesity increases the risk for a host of ailments - including heart disease, diabetes, cancer and arthritis - and that obese people are more likely to die prematurely.

Although people who are overweight but not obese have been found to have an increased risk of diabetes and are more likely to have high blood pressure and cholesterol levels that put them at increased risk of heart attacks, it has been unclear whether they are more likely to die prematurely.

In the hope of helping settle the question, the National Cancer Institute launched the new study, involving 527,265 men and women ages 50 to 71. The researchers asked the subjects detailed questions about their health and lifestyles, including their diet and physical activity, as well as their height and weight, including how much they weighed when they were 50.

After a decade, the researchers found that those who were overweight when they were 50 were at significantly elevated risk of dying prematurely and that those who were obese were two to three times more likely. Just being overweight was not nearly as dangerous but still boosted the risk by 20 to 40 percent, the study said.

But other researchers are not convinced, saying the findings are questionable for a number of reasons, including the fact that the weight data relied on the participants' recollections, which are notoriously unreliable, instead of direct measurements. Also, the sample was not necessarily representative of the general population.

"I feel like the researchers were trying to manipulate their data to match their conclusion," said Linda Bacon of the University of California-Davis.

Other researchers said they hoped to move the debate beyond arguing over what level of being overweight was dangerous to focusing on finding better ways to prevent people from gaining weight in the first place.
