I had a look at this thread, as I could not understand why JLH was getting so many posts and i wish now i had not.

The pictures that are been shown in magazines/internet like OK and so on, are basically disgusting in my opinion. Worse than any 2 girls 1 cup shit you will see

I couldn't agree more. Why splash that disgusting ass all over the internet? Nobody wants to see that. It's hideous looking.

falloff oh, that is what it is, I thought it was some almost extinct beach whale, so after re-adjusting my screen settings and using zoom out, I finally recognised that you may be right highfive
If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

OH DEAR GOD!!! whofarted shockedduh disbelief

What does that have to do with anything??? All I know is that someone who feels the need to constantly judge, pick apart, or bash other people on something so empty and meaningless as looks is lacking something inside.

It is a general sensitivity thing. I care about other people, am very aware of others feelings, and would NEVER want to make anyone feel bad. You obviously are not cut of that cloth, So you believe that anyone who does not agree with your unabashed cruelty has a personal complex issue. Um.... no. Some people are just not like that. Meaning NOT LIKE YOU.....rolleyes

And don't even sit there and try to tell me that "this is the internet" and thats your excuse for being that way. Its obvious that insensitive, judgemental, and cruel is how you are in real life as well.

Yeah you may not make fun of fat chicks (or anyone who does not measure up to your "standards") to thier face in real life, but no doubt in your mind you have already labeled them and treat them accordingly.

That is seriously messed up and shows exactly what things you find important in life. And THAT is why I agree with what she said.

blahblah

What in the holy hell are you babbling about with your hollow lecture about how you think I should be? LMAO!! Just answer the question. I'm sick and tired of people wanting to be politically correct and "sensitive". yawn

If you're fat, you're fat. If you're not, you're not. Why do you need to be so sensitive about it unless you have issues about it?

See you are proving my point. Could you actually believe that maybe I am not trying to be "sensitive" Maybe I am just that kind of person!!!! An it might be "gasp" a good thing...omg!!! Is it so strange to you that you cannot even believe that anyone could be that way? Caring of other peoples feelings just because they do? Wow what a concept. It has NOTHING to do with my personal feelings. Having empathy for someone does not mean that you have to have the same problems.

Nope I am not lecturing you on how you should be. I honestly don't give a flying fuck about how you should be. Just stating the obvious that your words and attitudes give you away for what you are. Someone who revels in making fun of others.

And that is why I agreed with what Erin said.

alright, ladies.
agree to disagree.

obviously there's 2 mindsets at war on this thread.

there's the mindset that you should never say anything negative about anyone ever, because it's hurtful and demeaning.

there's the mindset that people shouldn't be so sensitive especially when it's in reference to celebrities who put themselves in the public eye.

the one group is never going to see the other group's point of view.

Wrong.

It's absolutely not about never saying anything negative about someone.

The 2 mindsets are:

One thinks being utterly cruel, particularly when it comes to making fun of one's looks is wrong no matter who it is (because being cruel is done simply to hurt someone, belittle them, embarrass them) and the other thinks it's perfectly acceptable.

One group places more value on certain people over others (people in the public eye deserve less respect then people who are not) and the other group doesn't.

Those appear to be the two mindsets and yes, they will never see eye to eye.

And for the record, going back to an earlier post of yours...I don't consider people who think it's acceptable to be cruel to others "assholes", I consider them "losers".

Come one now! lol I wasn't saying you thought some women LITERALLY have no hips, like some babies are born with tails or something. We all know everyone that has all of the regular body parts has hips, even if they're flat hips.

We just obviously disagree on what makes a woman "have hips." To me pretty much every woman I've seen has hips (some kind of curve in that area).

Maybe to your eyes, some of them don't, but maybe I just look closer smile

1. I'm not fat* (see my earlier post for height/size--I don't own a scale so I don't know how much I weigh) and I agree with JustErin & PurpleAlegria to an extent. A lot of times people who constantly criticize & put others down do so to make themselves feel better/good. Maybe you're one who does that, maybe you're not....I don't know you personally so I'll reserve 'judgement' about which side you fall on.

2. If you really don't worry a bit about what people say/think (as you keep saying) why keep responding to their comments? Maybe there's "something wrong with you" (to use your own logic). eek

*Well at least I don't think I'm fat. But maybe I am according to others. hmm

:sits and waits for Gemini13 to tell me which flaw/insecurity/issue I have that would make me agree with JustErin & PurpleAlegria.: wink

ok NDRU...lol But there are women with no curves, who are have thick waistlines and no curves. I think Cal was trying to show how Vanessa Williams doesn't really have hips (maybe just a little bit).

Tisha Campbell is sorta hipless too.

yeah I definitely see, especially with the thicker waistlines. Both she & vanessa seem to do lots of pilates or somthing. Their stomachs look powerful. Makes their hips look really flat.

One thing that influences people's perceptions in this regard is the culture of meanness that exists on the internet. Sites like MediaTakeOut and Perez Hilton, which seem to exist solely to judge people on their appearances, and in most cases, tear them down. It'd be hard to believe that without that, shit like this would even be news.

Actually, what's laughable is you simply not getting it. I never said that I don't judge people, everyone does that. The difference is that I judge people by their actions, what they do and say...not by their looks.

That's why I disagreed with dude about it being about not saying anything negative about a person.

But, I guess you just couldn't figure that out yourself (like most everyone else could) and needed me to totally spell it out for you. That's cool.

I consider people who take delight in being cruel to others about things as petty as looks to be losers...but perhaps you're right. I shouldn't think that they are lowlifes, I should remember that there is something wrong with them and I should just feel sorry for them. I think the ones that do that kind of thing are bitter and very envious. That's why they love to see others (especially others that have had some level of success or attention) suffer, feel embarrassment or pain. Envy makes people do some really cruel things.

Yeah, it's sad really.
