Raw meat and fish are delicious. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

At any rate, this type of "cooking" does not kill pathogens, so you still have to be careful about how the meat is processed and handled. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. Where there any cookbooks or dishes you would recommend (for making at home)? Also, what kind of equipment did you get? I know I need to go out and get a dehydrator, and a better mixer.

I eat raw meat and fish all the time. Just had both yesterday, in fact. I only eat raw fish in the form of sushi or tataki. When I lived in Florida I occasionally would eat Cuban style ceviche, though. So far as raw meat is concerned, I generally limit myself to beef tataki or carpaccio and something here called "mett". Mett is usually made from pork here and resembles loose American sausage like Tennessee Pride. It's generally very lean though, and is more similar to steak tartare in the way it is made. It's also highly salted making it almost cured in taste...and on a warm piece of dark bread with chopped onion and fresh cracked pepper it's EXCELLENT for a hangover. Otherwise I need most things to be cooked... although I do prefer meats like beef a bit on the rare side. I will devour a rare piece of steak like nobody's business!

Who eats raw chicken? Anyone who does is an idiot and deserves whatever they get. (Which would most likely be a massive case of campylobacter.) You have to be smart about it. Raw poultry isn't eaten for a reason. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh, my...mett sounds They have a beef version of mett also. It's called "hackpeter". Also salted, made from the best quality beef and resembles steak tartare. Thankfully for me though, the German version doesn't use raw egg!!!! That's where I draw the line is with the raw egg thingies
