I need a virtual hug

Not that I'm not getting hugs in real life, but still.

My cat is ill, I'm under lots of pressure, the cold has given me winterfeet, and yesterday some of my favourite winter-clothes were stolen in the washing saloon. I'd rather meet Diamond (or was it Pearl?) in places like that. A loss of 600 euros, but most importantly, of some of my favourite pieces. I hadn't found the time to do the laundy for 3 weeks, so you can imagine how many clothes they took. Nearly all my winter-clothes are gone.

Tomorrow I'll be teaching in front of a terrible class who called me 'racist' and threw things at me, after an absurd conflict with one student had taken place the week before... So-called colleagues telling secret info to the students, etc...whofarted This life is rather unfair at times and I'm scared. The headmaster said he will be there in order to avoid that 17 18-year old boys will jump on me. Let's just pray he will.

sad

Nothing too bad I know, but still I feel pretty depressed these days.

Update: The headmaster was there today and he took care of the situation in a very agressive way. The good thing is that they were scared and I was able to teach, but I'm afraid his behaviour will turn against me. It wasn't the way I would handle it, but then again, I can't handle it at all so it seems. Anyway, I'm going to ask the French teacher to help me next week. After that they have exams and I won't see them till January.

I'm working at the most 'ghetto'-school of the whole city. It's really hard. To hide their weaknesses (e.g. bad results) the immigrants often 'suspect' me of being racist. That pisses me of, as it's not true and this results in a lack of understanding on both sides. It"s is rather frightening though, to work with pimps, dealers, addicts. Luckily I have one very sweet class as well. And in each class there are at least 3 people trying to make a nice future.

I'm hoping to find time today to go to the police. I'm still feeling sad about the clothes and I can't leave it like that.

Back to work now, fighting a very close deadline. Thanks for your support.

I am glad to hear that you are ok. hug

You should really report your clothes. I would lend you some of my winter clothes but I moved from Florida...I am afraid all I could give you is some shorts and t-shirts.
I had my clothes stolen from my apartment washing facilities many years ago..it is very frustrating. I cannot believe ppl would stoop that low.

really ... I should keep to my promise and we should get wasted in Ghent one of these days pout

I'm not good in that kind of situations and I don't know what you're teaching those kids, but I'd confront them with the situation and talk about their strong points. Why they are good people at heart and why they can make a difference (especially in these dark days leading to X-mas ...)

Luv !

Small update: I've got my clothes back !

A woman put them in the machine and asked her husband to get them out later. He took the wrong clothes. confused Men rolleyes

Might be that the sense of guilt took over as well, in my opinion. The way I got them back was very strange.

Anyway, woot!

woot!

(I bet your clothes just didn't fit her rolleyes wink )

we had our video camera stolen at a pub last NYE. It was returned 2 days later with similar story. I also think the "culprit" watched some of the video footage, which was of the kids birthday parties and christmas, and felt guilt for taking it.
