We are looking to go to the Maldives from there so he can dive and I can explore on foot. Sri Lanka looks beautiful judging from the pics you posted here  . It looks like a real nice place for a wedding  .
The Maldives may be great for diving, but there may no be lot to explore on foot. Peter told me you might be finished in 10 minutes  . But hasn't Phil be there himself? if you are going for a couple of weeks try to plan ahead, alot of the places, trips etc are so far away from each other, that you may have to stay overnight, which means paying out for another hotel room...
