Old School video game thread

I got a kick out of seeing these two videos on youtube. Two of my favorite arcade games:

Spacer Harrier: http://www.youtube.com/wa...OH68OsvOEI

Cobra Command: http://www.youtube.com/wa...mwzFDNF3PE. I loved this one so much.

Believe it or not, I was the Pinball Intramural Champion in college. I wasted the competition on this machine:

HELL YES! I will RULE this weekend! If they have an Evel Knievel machine, that is...

I'm going to bring the 4" x 6" Intramural Pinball Champion plaque I won 30 years ago and use it to psyche out everyone else.

THE Sixth Houston Arcade Expo will have a new home, the Houston Grand Plaza at Loop 610 and Kirby, and the newest pinball sensation, Spider-Man 3, and the same old pinball atmosphere you know, love and remember from when you hung out in pinball haunts — dark, loud and crowded. The only thing different — there's no smoking now.

"Yeah, you won't find cigarette burn marks on the pinball machines," laughed Arcade Expo director Keith Christenson.

The Arcade Expo, which will feature 150 mostly nostalgic pinball and console games, will be open 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Nov. 30 and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 1.

You don't have to bring a jingly pocketful of coins. One ticket at the door gets you unlimited free play once you're inside.

Tickets are $15 for one day and $25 for both days.

"We're going to have raffles, door prizes and tournaments," said Christenson. "The big event will be the Spider-Man 3 tournament. That's the newest, biggest thing on the pinball scene. Whoever gets the highest score will receive a trophy, a cash prize and points toward his or her world ranking in pinball."

So start practicing now. Players are coming in from across the country to compete.

lol cool guys! I used to have an Atari 800. it had such great sound/music... the major disappointment when I got my first PC (1991) was how crappy the sound was.

good luck in your tournament Rodeo!

My father-in-law has a couple Ms. Pac Man machines. It's our favorite game. When we want to play, we look at each other and say, "Let's go Pac off!"

The girls NEVER laugh. But we always do.
