Being sick sucks. How long does it take to get a cold? O.K. I have been told it takes like 48 hours to get a cold after coming in contact with a person who is sick.
I think that's not true as it would depend on someone's immunity system and how weak it is. Not gonna get to much into it but a person I took over for at work, was sick and I disenfected that person's area which is now mine. She asked if I could take care of one paper assignment that needed to be completed. Sure no prob. Leave it. A few hours later I take care of it and writing it up and I put my hands on it. I am like..why is it wet....their was some knarley orange stuff at the bottom. No clue what it is but I get rid of that paper so quick and spray my hand with alochol. Another person who has been sneezing all morning, keeps coming by my desk to drop paperwork off. I ask if she could just save all her paperwork til the end of the day instead of bringing each paper one by one. I am joking but being serious. She says I have allergies, I am not sick. I say regardless, say you sneeze on someone on in their area, you are still giving off germs that could turn into a cold. She says that's not possible. Bleh. Go on with my day and at the end of it, she does admit she is kind of got a cold. Oh brother. I feel a lil bit of something coming on but I get an airborne and go on with my day. Watching a lil bit of Monday Night Football and i am feeling like ish. I take another airborne and head to the drug store to buy $40.00 worth of stuff to fight the cold and have two cups of green tea. I have that and a lot of water and one thing for my cold and one last airborne. I call my boss and say I am coming down with something but I am gonna fight it and will try to come in tomorrow. A few hours go by and now I have a freaking headache. Worried about what things I have taken for my cold and think long and hard before popping two asprin for my headache. I feel kinda sick in my stomach and am waiting for the head ache to pass. No such luck. I kind of get the dry heaves and thinking wow, I think I am gonna throw up but this goes on for bout an hour. I grab a large bowl just in case I don't make it to the bathroom. I am thinking I am gonna fight this. I got the flu shot over a month ago. I will be fine. Nope. I feel something hit and grab the bowl in enough time. I will spare you the grossness. But what the hell? I saw things I did not even remember eating. I am like what the hell did I have that was orange? Is that rice? I am hoping this is more funny than gross but ewwww. After I stopped, I left a message for my boss and called work to adv it is not looking good for me but if I feel better, I will come in later. Trying to sleep now but I think my body is still trying to fight the cold so not getting rest and worried about taking nyquil to knock me out because of how many things I have taken already but perhaps I passed all that thru me already. So the ? is, what can I do to get better quick to get back to work and how long or how quick can you get sick coming in contact with someone who is sick? Silence Speaks A Thousand Words. | |

I aint a doctor, but what you have just wrote is the sound of someone that wants to stay in bed for the day and chat on the PC. If you had had a good few alcoholic drinks, you would be fine now, but no, you take doses of medicine, all mixed up, you will be lucky to be alive tomorrow. getting a cold from someone is abit of a myth, and in your case more so, and as for the FLU, it is unlikely you have that, otherwise you would not be capable of writing such a great story If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

sounds like the flu which means you were already infected before the germ girl sneezed on you.
