Bette Davis, Anybody? I didn't appreciate her untill later, it took abit of a growing up to do to know where she's coming from. Fierce wit! And I love the fact that she didn't give a shit about being a glamour puss like her rivals @ the time. The ONLY movie I was fimiliar with and loved was All About Eve but this is the movie that REALLY did it for me...
She's like what they used to say back then? Wear her heart on her sleeve

I That movie was such a exploitation to their talent, though. Lock 2 rival divas in a movie set and make a use out of their animosity 2ward each other. Ms.Crawford can tackle the bitchy roles much better though...

The Women is an awesome movie and Joan Crawford is an excellent onscreen bitch but my heart belongs to Bette Davis. There are days where I just have Bette Davis moods...those can be fun days.
All About Eve is one of my absolute favorite movies.

Ya know what? I've always thought that Bette would've tackled that role. A cult-movie about a possessive maniac,,,,she would've sunk her teeth into it She was a TRUE femme fatale in this flick... ![]()

That fashion show [Edited 11/25/07 7:43am] She was way too OLD for that part. The remake that is in production scares the shit out of me. Ain't know way thats going to be any good. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Its something to witness her versatility, I haven't seen somebody who jumped from a personality to another different one with so much ease. You could tell that she "lives" the actual characters she portrayed, so to speak.

She's like what they used to say back then? Wear her heart on her sleeve I'm a huge Bette Davis fan. My mom got me into her when I was about 12. I love all her movies. My favourites are Dark Victory and Now, Voyager, but she made many other great movies. She was a true actress with loads of talent and balls too. [Edited 11/26/07 9:36am]

I've never been a big fan. I've always much preferred Joan Crawford. However, Bette Davis has made some excellent movies (with the exception of Now, Voyager which is incredibly boring and terribly overrated):
Dark Victory (One of her very best roles) The Letter Dangerous (I actually prefer Ms. Davis with her blond hair) Jezebel

I'm not sure how she was too old for that part. Man-stealing hussies come in all ages. With the exception of Joan Fontaine and Paulette Goddard, all the women in that movie were on the mature side.

Bette Davis is one of my favorite actresses of all time. The thing I love most about her is that she always did exactly what a role demanded. She wasn't afraid to be ugly or unsympathetic. And she went toe-to-toe with Warner Brothers for better roles -- something that just wasn't done in those days.
Now, Voyager is my favorite of her many performances. Her chemistry with Paul Henreid (and Claude Rains, for that matter) is incredible. And she really dug for that role. Amazing work. Some of my other favorites (in no particular order): Of Human Bondage The Petrified Forest Dark Victory The Letter Mr. Skeffington All About Eve A Stolen Life (she plays identical twins in this one) The Man Who Came to Dinner Old Maid Waterloo Bridge (one of her earliest roles) Jezebel We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
