I have been watching the current season of I Love New York 2 on VH1 with some degree of regularity, if for nothing more than the sheer audacity of it. I have to say that the character "New York" has to fall into the "some piece of work" category. I take it with a grain of salt, but marvel at some of the things that the cameras managed to capture.

First, let me say that I think shows like this are nothing more than a "new and improved" version of soap operas. The character New York, while "attractive and lovely"--in her own little way--well, if this is the reality that our children are growing up around, this is cause for serious concern. However, she is easily one of the most fascinating characters I've seen in the genre, and there is at least an attempt to show more than one side of her.

So - is anyone else watching this program, and do you agree/disagree - what's your take?

I watch it. I wouldn't be surprised if the show included some acting. Some of it is a little over the top. It's like watching a train wreck, you can't help it, lol.

By the way, I think she is going to pick Buddah.

On one level, Buddha would be the best of the 4 for her, cuz tho he's got violent tendencies, he would never touch her, I think. But he would be good for her, cuz he stands up to her - I didn't dig the "wifey" comment (regarding Tailor Made) at all - not sayin' she needs to be the wife, but she def. doesn't deserve to wear the pants. She ain't finished growin' up yet.

I remember on one of the other reality TV shows (think it was the one when Flavor Flav was looking for a mate), one of the other girls in the house said she looked like Shrek.

Indeed it is. Makes me wonder, tho. It seems like kids today will do whatever for 15 seconds on TV or the internet. I have seen some stupid sh*t on reality-TV - and it just makes me wonder - "why would someone abandon their dignity so quickly, all for 15 seconds?" I am not judging or claiming superiority, cuz some people would think some of my choices just as stupid, but when did parents stop teaching kids to have respect for themselves?

Also, I think it deserves to be said - I don't know what to think of what is being touted as "the definition of love" on this show. If anything, what is portrayed as love is nothing more than chemistry and obsession, and last time I checked, these had nothing to do with love AT ALL!
