My sons are in their early 20's. What I do around Christmas, is take advantage of the "gift with purchase" deals the cosmetic counters have at Macy's Dillard's etc. I buy scented bathsoap, body products etc, to meet the minimal price for the item. There's some great stuff that's offered, such as toiletries bags, gift sets for less than full price, manicure sets,etc.
Now's the time to look for specials.
One son likes Abercombie and Fitch cologne, as it's earthy and woodsy. Not too overwelming.

Btw, I'm not too much into the heavier musk scents...not sure if any of the ones you guys have suggested fall into that category, though.

I think I'm gonna have to try these colognes out in shifts lol ...

Rule of thumb for men on cologne - have 3 in your arsenal:

1 - Have a cologne that you know smells good on you
2 - Have a cologne that other people (preferrably chicks) say smells good on you
3 - Have an obscure cologne that no one is rockin'

Yeah, cologne rules! - Men don't need that many choices for the "smell-good". 3 colognes will do it, 4 tops. And check out Eternity, it's damn good and I've never gone wrong with that one.

Drakkar is even older than that, it was around in the 80s.

This stuff smells really nice. It's not a strong perfumey or musky smell, just smells light and clean.

Byron, some of these suggestions are good but I prefer my man to smell nice and clean... not too overpowering. Scents like Drakkar, Calvin Klein, Armani are great but those scents are so over used that it won't become signature to you, they are just way too recognizable.


I LOVE the original LANVIN, it has citrus notes so it doesn't come off too sweet like Pasha, and light for someone that doesn't have a strong natural chemistry. Lanvin (the original)isn't easy to find, Neaman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's carried it, I'm sure you can get it online.
