Anxiety said: i either just buy the toiletries i need when i get to my destination or else i end up checking a bag so i can take whatever i want without having to deal with all that nonsense. for me, it's actually worth having to wait at a luggage carousel to avoid all that mess with the ziploc baggies and 3 oz. containers. who has time? forget it.
Same! I can't be bothered to buy little travel sized anything. Checking a bag is SO much more worth it to me. That and I could never fit everything I need in a carry-on anyway. |

Everything has to be 3 ounces and under, so I had to go out and buy little 3 ounce bottles to put my shampoo, conditioner, contact lens solution, and baby oil into. My brother tells me that anything over 3 ounces will get confiscated at the airport. It's good that the airlines are being very cautious about what they allow and will not allow on their flights, but it makes it a bit tough having to follow all of these rules. I printed out a list of what you can and cannot take, and it's 10 pages long! Who has time to read all of this stuff?
[Edited 11/21/07 19:33pm] But isn't that just for carry on luggage? I do cross continental travel several times a year and I fly in and out of the U.S. with an INSANE amount of full sized toiletries in my check-in luggage.

I know how to get things on board whose weight can pass the 3 ounce mark.
I used to work as a drug-mule.

I don't think it's for carry on luggage only, I think it's for any bags that you check as well. I could be wrong, but that is my understanding of it, anyway. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
