NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Wal-Mart is focusing its much-anticipated Black Friday deals on plasma and LCD televisions, home computers and DVD players, according to sources at two Web sites that track Black Friday promotions.

Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving - is one of the busiest shopping days of the year for the nation's retailers. Details about the sales, which Wal-Mart is not expected to officially unveil until next week, are awaited with great expectation in the retail industry.

At Wal-Mart (Charts, Fortune 500), the world's largest retailer, the so-called doorbuster deals between 5 a.m. and 11.00 a.m. will focus on limited-supply hot products including a Philips 50-inch widescreen plasma high-definition TV ($1397), RCA 46-inch widescreen LCD high-def TV ($1,196), Polaroid 42-inch widescreen 1080p LCD high-def TV ($798) and a Sanyo 37-inch widescreen LCD high-def TV ($847).

Wal-Mart cautious on holiday earnings
Wal-Mart is expected to officially release its Black Friday circular early next week, although it started unwrapping "holiday" deals weeks ago. Like other retailers, Wal-Mart is trying to stoke holiday shopping excitement early - fearful that Americans will spend less on gifts as housing and credit problems infect consumer spending.

To that end, Wal-Mart chopped prices on 15,000 toys in October. Then it promoted deals on five select items, including a $348 laptop computer, on Nov. 1.

Some of Wal-Mart's other Black Friday promotions include an Apple 80GB iPod Classic ($247.88), assorted DVDs ($2.96), Dell Inspiron 1501 15.4-inch laptop computer ($598), Kodak 7MP digital camera ($89.84) and Xbox 360 arcade console system with 5 bonus games ($279.92).

In addition, Wal-Mart is selling Barbie Fairytopia Mermaid or Princess Ballerina Dolls ($5) and an Emerson Microwave ($25).
mad Wal-Mart spokeswoman Melissa O'Brien did not address the leaks from its Black Friday sales circular.

However, she said Wal-Mart is aware that "our Black Friday plans are the subject of some of the hottest rumors in town," O'Brien said in an email to CNNMoney.com. She said that's why the retailer has expanded early promotions, a practice it started last year.

"We'll publish our Black Friday ad circular online as early as next Monday, Nov. 19," she said. "And then on Thanksgiving Day, we'll again release a whole new set of secret in-store specials."

These aren't deals!!! People are so easily led...

That XBox360 with 5 games is a pretty good deal.

Some bargains are pretty good, but most of the electronic deals are usually tv's & dvd players, or stuff I already have or don't need. This year for Christmas, everyone (with the exception of intermediate family) is getting gift baskets with goodies, all identical. It worked last, everyone loved their baskets, and it's a lot less hectic than shopping for family members separately. It's cheaper to order stuff for gift baskets at wholesale too. .

How to Shop the Friday Doorbusters Specials at Best Buy

Hoping to get in on the amazing deals at Best Buy on Friday, November 23? You'll need to get there early in the morning, way before the stores open at 5 a.m.

Here are a few things to know before you go:

Prior to opening, a line of customers will form outside the store.

Starting at 3 a.m., with the front of the line, employees will hand out tickets to customers for Doorbuster and Bonus Doorbuster products (these are the front cover and BestBuy.com limited-quantity items, excluding CDs, DVDs and video game software).

The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per item, will grant you the ability to buy the Doorbuster items.

These tickets are valid for a limited time. The products requiring a ticket must be purchased, or in your hand, by 9 a.m. This is when the remaining inventory, if available, will be released to the general public.

We are unable to guarantee all customers in line will receive a ticket. See Customer Specialist for details.

Man, that Toshiba laptop w/printing dock for $229 at Best Buy is REALLY tempting. I'm running out of space on my current lap top and that would be better than buying an external hard drive. People are skeptical about it though. They'll probably only stock like one or two just to get people in there. It's gonna be a bloodbath. I better suit up.

Just checked a site and the lap top only has 512MB of RAM. hmmm That's still a really good deal. You can upgrade, and it'll still be a bargain.

Seagate - 160GB Internal Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive $49.99
hmmm Maybe I should just do this instead.

The following items will be available in-store only on Black Friday:

Toshiba A135-S7403 Laptop & Canon 3-in-1 Printer Package $229

Samsung - 40" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV & Installation Package $1199

Sony - Cyber-shot 7.2MP Digital Camera - Silver $99.99

LG - 47" 1080p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV $1999

Hitachi - Ultravision 50" 1080i Flat-Panel Plasma HDTV $2499

Sharp - 19" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV $329.99

Hitachi - DVD Camcorder $199.99

Olympus - 8.0MP Digital Camera - Silver $129.99

Seagate - 160GB Internal Ultra ATA/100 Hard Drive $49.99

Some of these are still a little expensive to risk getting tangled in that madness. The HSN had a Kodak 10MP Digital Camera for $159. Too bad I already got that one, because that Powershot camera is a good deal.
