I'm so proud of my Boys!!

They are on their third installment of the Book Club I started for them and they have been reading like maniacs! I have one child who I am teaching to read that now has the confidence on par with students his age. At one time he would get angry and aggressive when told to do anything that had to do with reading, now he is coming to me asking to read TO ME!!

clapping For my boys!!!

That's awesome, Dex!

I was volunteering at a school helping a girl learn to read for about a year and when I changed jobs I had to quit because of my location. I'd like to start it up again. It's an amazing feeling, seeing someone you've been teaching finally succeed.

The can ALL succeed with proper guidance and a committment of your time and energy because they come to appreciate your efforts!

Thank you baby....you can always go and read to them in spare time...once a week or so....

SERIOUS question here.

First, congratulations on the success your Boys are having! That it truly wonderful!!

hug rose woot!

Now, the question, what do you do with a child for whom the more attention you give, the more they want, the more you give, the more they want and it's more about the attention than anything? What do you do for the child that no matter how much attention you give them. No matter how much you attend to their needs, listen to their feelings and nurture them, they STILL behave as if they are starving for attention?

If this is a sibling rivalry thing...just sit them each down as a group and explain to them why you must interact the way you do with them. Make them aware that they are NOT alike in a manner they can relate to and reassure them how you interact with one may or may not work with another.

If this is one child, then be thankful he/she is coming to you for all their needs. It may be taxing, but worth every ounce of energy you expend!! Just don't be afraid to tell them you need some me time to masturbate or whatever....LOL

Whap!!!

Cheeky monkey!

The kid doesn't SLEEP w/ me for Heaven's sake!

I think sibling rivalry has a bit to do with it and you're right, it's quite taxing.

That's one nice angle to look at it though...at least she's coming to me. woot!

Same with me - wherever I go, whatever I do, I end up teaching people meaning they ask me about things/advice, I try very hard NOT to impose my so-called knowledge on them.
