Now let me put it simply how many of you who bought Street Fighter on Virtual Console wanted to play that online? Well on the 360 version YOU CAN! A dollar a day equals 365 dollars a year (Plus the games you buy/download.). Doesn't sound "TOO" bad. How much do these games cost? Is there an activation fee through the X-Box Live Marketplace? If so, say I were to buy an ELITE, how much would the X-Box Live Marketplace cost?

And that above is the kind of consumer that isnt buying Wii(i didnt say YOU inparticular, i ment the type), a dedicated hardcore gamer. And there is a fuk ton more casuals. Thats your answer as to why wii is selling so much. Too many people dont care about all those Xbox extras (i have a 360 btw), which are awesome to hardcore gamers. the Premium and Elite come with a free 1 month subscription to Silver Xbox Live...the Elite might have more or even a Gold one, im not too sure. And the subscription universal so you wont pay more if you have an Elite model
Its really something more like 20 - 30 cents per day for a years Gold subscription. and once you get the Gold one you get access to more than just Xbox Arcade games, you get FREE demos, of Arcade and proper 360 games, FREE trailers for games, gamer events (eg E3 and the like) Themes for your Xbox dash board, Gamer Pictures, and still lots more, all in all its worth paying the money for it as it brings the whole experience to a whole different level. Oh and Downloadable content for a lot of 360 games, even if its something small like an extra costume for a character or something big like a whole new level its there The Arcade games vary in points ranging from 300 - 800 which is roughly $4 - $10 (Aussie pricing btw) Receiving transmission from David Bowie's nipple antenna. But, for right now, I want to hold off for "ANY" of their current games and wait until next year when the Sony "BOOM" era begins. sales will go up when the new final fantasy games are released, a few million people will want to play those.

I just bought my son the PS3 for Christmas. I wanted to pick up the Wii but those are hard to find. I also bought my daughter the DS lite.
To be honest, I wanted the PS3 myself.

Somebody help me, please.
My son wants a PS3 for Christmas/birthday. He has a PS2. Why should I buy a PS3? Will it make the PS2 games better? Or do you have to buy new PS3 games to see the PS3 value? And why the 3 different types of PS3's? What gig model should I buy? Do all PS3's play PS2 games? Some people say that oinly certain models do. If we buy a PS3, I'd like it to be able to play the $1,000 worth of PS2 games we have.

If we buy a PS3, I'd like it to be able to play the $1,000 worth of PS2 games we have. If you buy a PS3, be careful which gb model you buy - the new 40gb ones, which are cheaper, are cheaper partly because of the fact that the backwards compatibility feature has been scrapped, meaning you can't play PS2 games. All other and older models have that capability. So steer clear of the new 40 gb ones. All others are have some kind of backwards compaitbility, but the 80 gb model and one of the now discontinued 60 gb PAL model (but you still might be able to find the last few in stores) have software instead of hardware emulation, meaning compatibility for some games is reduced. The NTSC version (also discontinued) has the better hardware emulation I think. You can always check the compatibility list: http://faq.eu.playstation.com/bc/ or http://www.us.playstation...ibleStatus to be sure your PS2 games'll work. [Edited 11/21/07 10:00am]

Be first in line when Gamestop opens on Black Friday and I think you'll have a good chance..I've been told the stores are hoarding their shipments just for Black Friday. Don't give up...getting one is half the fun

Agreed, this service is really a treasure trove for us retro gamers. This is the difference between Xbox Live and Virtual Console. While M$ may spend a little extra cash to add on extra functionality, it will never have access to all the great games of the 80s and 90s simply because all it was publishing then was solitaire. VC is a runaway success, while it could be improved no doubt, it does and will continue to offer the most comprehensive line up of classics of all time. No other console manufacturer will ever be able to match this, NEVER. RIP 1958-2016 Prince RIP 1947-2016 David Bowie
