Do "Dream Jobs" REALLY Exist???

This is something that I seriously question, after quitting my last 2 jobs because I absolutely could not stand working there, and getting laid off from the 2 jobs before that because business was slow. My opinion is you just need to find a job where the company/employer puts up with you, and vice versa, and you better hope to hell that your job is stable. That's a bad attitude to have, I know, but after everything I've been through on the employment front, I just feel like a "dream job" is just a fallacy. confused

Yes, they exist.
But they are few and far between...so the best you can hope for is a work environment that doesn't make you ill.

I still work at my dream job. Unfortunately, the "dream" part of it only lasted for the first couple years (I've been here for 11).

Just remember:

Money doesn't buy happiness...but it'll pay for the search.

At the end of the day, it's a j-o-b. It isn't who you are -- it's just the thing you have to do that makes all the things you want to do possible.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I knew this guy that worked for the Miller Lite distributorship.

His job was to go out and make sure all the big parties and events in town had sufficient Miller Lite banners and giveaways. And while he was there, he was supposed to recruit new Miller Lite girls.

So you tell me.

See, I think that part of my problem is that I HATE what I do for a living. I've done it since high school (20+ years) and I'm just BORED with it. My "dream job" would be to work with animals, but unforunately, the pay is shit. I'm better off staying in my current occupation than quitting, going back to school to study something related to animals, and then getting a job in that field. I need to get my ass back into school, but I have NO IDEA what to go into. clueless

i have to say i am VERY glad to be employed. working is a million times better than being unemployed and right now enough of my pals are out of work that i'm grateful for the daily grind.

It would be great if I had my dream job. A job that I wouldn't mind getting up and going to, a job that I wouldn't feel like I was doing "work" but was doing something fulfilling.

Like someone said on here, unfortunately, because its so hard to even get a job out here period, and with most people having more bills than cash, we just take what we can get and try to make the best out of it.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
