Free housing as part of compensation if it's an onsite kind of thing.
Free upgrades, basically when I am asked to help with the sale of a property, I move onsite, take an apartment, and paint it whatever colors I want, put in crown molding if I want to, new carpet, new appliances, etc. I also get the freedom to take time off when needed.

My Target target discount, while only 10%, rocks. I love Target.

I adore the people I work with. My team and my boss are honestly awesome people to hang out with everyday. Last week I got home from work one day and realized my eyeliner was all coming off and it was cause I'd laughed till tears were coming out 3 TIMES that day. That's a good day.

The 401k plan for Target is generally called the best plan in retail. I discovered the other day that if current trends continue, I'm gonna be pretty well off when I retire. It's a nice projection. And honestly something I never really thought I'd acheive. Even though with inflation and the US dollar it probably still won't be enough to live on comfortably. lol. And of course, that's only if I don't decide to up and move to Brazil or something.

I.
LOVE.
TARGET.

I wish they would go international like Walmart. But the Walmarts overseas are so sub-par... sad ...

This is a compilation of all my jobs, at some point in life:

- knowing tomorrow's news the night before.
- free cds and tapes and books
- getting Christmas cards from the governor
- organizing conventions
- meeting political figures and celebrities (I've turned Al Sharpton's face pale with shock, and I've heard Jesse Jackson curse like a sailor, for instance).
- you learn an awful lot about an awful lot, and people think you're smart as a result.

That's all that comes to mind.

Discounts at many businesses, i.e., gyms, telephone companies
Free bus/train pass
Free health insurance, aside from my deductible. 90% of medical costs are covered for preventive care.
Great union membership
Excellent benefits and wages for the field
Have both a 401K and Pension plan
Most important: going home at the end of the day knowing I made a difference, not being part of a spiritually "empty" profession

I can get into pretty much any museum in the US for free and I get the members discount at the museums gift shops. I've had that benefit for the past 8 years. I think it's awesome b/c I do go to a lot of museums. MoMA is $20/person and one time I got about 6 people in for free. mr.green

That's about it. My health benefits suck. Yes, I know I should be grateful that at least I have insurance, but I work for the fucking federal government and their benefits for "trust" (not technically federal) employees (like me) blow.

The only other remotely good thing is that those fuckers now have to contribute 12% of my deplorably low annual salary to my retirement account (but only because I've worked there for 2+ years). Even though 12% of a shitty salary is still low, its better than nothing, which is how much I can afford on aforementioned deplorably low salary. sigh
