I'm so proud of my Boys!! They are on their third installment of the Book Club I started for them and they have been reading like maniacs! I have one child who I am teaching to read that now has the confidence on par with students his age. At one time he would get angry and aggressive when told to do anything that had to do with reading, now he is coming to me asking to read TO ME!!
For my boys!!! The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

Ex-Moderator | That's awesome, Dex!
I was volunteering at a school helping a girl learn to read for about a year and when I changed jobs I had to quit because of my location. I'd like to start it up again. It's an amazing feeling, seeing someone you've been teaching finally succeed. |

The can ALL succeed with proper guidance and a committment of your time and energy because they come to appreciate your efforts! Thank you baby....you can always go and read to them in spare time...once a week or so.... Whap The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. -- Mark Twain.

That it truly wonderful!! Now, the question, what do you do with a child for whom the more attention you give, the more they want, the more you give, the more they want and it's more about the attention than anything? What do you do for the child that no matter how much attention you give them. No matter how much you attend to their needs, listen to their feelings and nurture them, they STILL behave as if they are starving for attention? I'm firmly planted in denial | |

If this is a sibling rivalry thing...just sit them each down as a group and explain to them why you must interact the way you do with them. Make them aware that they are NOT alike in a manner they can relate to and reassure them how you interact with one may or may not work with another. If this is one child, then be thankful he/she is coming to you for all their needs. It may be taxing, but worth every ounce of energy you expend!! Just don't be afraid to tell them you need some me time to masturbate or whatever....LOL Whap!!!
