if we were the kind of veg people who sat around shivering in our ponchos and trying to choke down a leaf of arugula or some such nonsense, i'd be all "yeah, it's probably not everyone's thing." but yeah, we whip up some pretty awesome stuff out here and WE LIKE TO EAT. nod

so yes....just YES..... lol

i lived alone for six years and now i live with my partner. living alone was great, but now i feel like "been there, done that". it's nice to cook meals for someone other than myself and to have someone else's energy influencing me in my living space. the autonomy of living alone is all fine and dandy, but i think too much solitude can make you a little wacky after too long a period.

lol

after living with someone for 10-11 years, i'm not too fond of living with a man or anyone for that matter again. there's just something about dancing in your drawers and farting in the hallways in the morning with the music sky high thay moves me cloud9 ya know? but i'd do it to help 'em out for a minute 'til they get it together. when i say a minute i mean a minute damnit! stab lol

It's the smartest thing I could've done. Just living apart and then getting married puts too many changes happening at once, in my opinion. I lived on my own briefly, moved off with my then-boyfriend, got settled in, we slowly started acquiring things, and then we eventually got married. After marriage, there was no surprises. We'd already figured out how things in our house were going to be. We didn't make a huge commitment to one another and then try to struggle to find our way together while we were at it.

As for finances, just because you're married doesn't mean you have to share EVERYTHING. We keep two separate checking accounts, and a joint savings account. No one takes out of the savings, unless the other one is present to approve it, that sort of thing. When the bills come in, he gives me half of each bill, I place it into my checking account, and then I take care of our finances. Whatever's left, he can do whatever he wants with, and likewise for me. Saves a ton of arguments. We just set aside a certain amount of each of our checks for the joint savings. It doesn't HAVE to be complicated....
This one's for you.
