If you are going to do flowers, I suggest sending them, to arrive earlier in the day. That will save her the trouble of having to hunt for a vase and trim stems as she's trying to get dinner on the table.

Or...you could skip the flowers and tell her that you'd like to bring the wine. Ask her if she could give you a general idea of what you're having (she might want to keep the specific menu a surprise, but a general hint would narrow it to red or white). Go to a good wine shop and get a recommendation.

Flowers would be very nice.

Good call to stay away from the long stem red roses. They mean "I love you"

Might be a bit much for a second date.

A nice small bouquet would be quite appropriate though.

rose

Just depends on what she likes. Anybody can give me flowers at any time and I will appreciate them, so there's that. biggrin

Only you know how the first date went, so as far as the extravagance factor, it depends on that. If you were going out on a second date with me, a single pale peach rose would be perfection. mushy

Somebody take me out on a second date. bawl

Awww some of us appreciate the small things and the thoughtfulness of others.

You are right, it will depend on how the first date went and what she was like.

Flowers certainly! Mixed are nice at this stage... lovely stargazers are... I adore them... so fragrant ... If roses, the peach colored ones are fabulous too.

how come we didn't talk about this yesterday? mad
can i still give my two cents?

if you are going to her house definately! biggrin
but a nice small mixed bouquet would suffice.
if meeting her or picking her up then if you
still want to, just do the single rose thingy smile
she can take it along and not have to worry
about putting a bouquet in water before you
set off for the evening.

Because you and I were humorously mired in humidity, politics and the Canadian pronunciation of "-out".

It was a nice, laid-back, fun first date. The single flower is winning by a landslide. I'm thinking she might dig an iris, lily or non-red rose. Or maybe... an orchid. lol

Yeah, to be on the safe side. If a girl is going to judge you on the cost of the flowers you bring, gross, but. . .it's a thing. shrug

(Though if it were me, well, I love carnations too. lol )

Random tip: lilies are highly toxic to cats. If she has one, no lilies. smile

they just aren't that special
so they are filler flowers in a bouquet
and are maybe more kind of a grandma thing

but they take up dye very well so if it's
st. patty's day and you need green flowers,
carnations are the way to go thumbs up!

I think most importantly, you need to do what is natural to you and not what you think she would want. Authenticity in a person is more important then getting it just right. It was said to once me and I get it these years later, just be yourself... absolutely be exactly who you are all the time. It is the best way to assure you get in where you fit in.

Thanks! didn't mean to skip this post. I actually nodded in agreement, as I read it earlier.

Unless, I could give roses and stare intensely into her eyes at the restaurant, going:

"From the first moment eye saw u, eye knew u were the 1..."

Yeah, and the many raves I saw here over the PFUnk release quickly undermined the whole point of solidarity garnered through the collective avatar...
