TRUST ME DONT GO OUT IN THE SUN I've already had one skin cancer scare, so I'm religious about sunscreen and the like. (Fortunately, the biopsies were negative--sometimes it's good to fail a test!) My skin tone is actually a bit darker--I've been told I have a slight olive tone. But I tweaked the gamma settings in that photo to compensate for lousy lighting conditions, and my adjustments had the side effect of making me look more pale. But they've found that for men with small nipples (e.g., me), it's often better to pierce through the base of the nipple at 16 gauge and stretch them to 14 gauge once they're healed. Why? Because if they pierce at 14 gauge, they often have to go behind the nipple and through the areola.
Okay, I finally got around to having them stretched to 14 gauge this evening. My piercer did it with insertion tapers that start at 16 gauge (my old size) on one end and gradually widen to 14 gauge at the other end. No pain or discomfort... I felt almost nothing. My nipples are just a little bit tender right now. And before anyone asks, no, I don't plan to stretch them any further.
