I've got a good mind to fire €50 on the table to shut her the hell up, but i feel thats a bit much for a mouse mat....

Especially if you keep going tit for tat. Guarantee.
If you want it, put your max amount you feel is fair in the last 30 seconds. And make it some odd ball amount.
Like, if you'll pay 50.00 then make it 53.58

Ebay makes me laugh. I got banned there last time. I kept putting off paying my seller as I was a bit short of cash at the time. It really narked the guy off. Anyway, he gave me a negative comment so I kicked off at him in reply like a little bitch!

I've attended silent auctions for fund raisers. If you keep going back and forth, the price keeps going up. Wait until the last minute before it closes, then be writing on the item paper, when the pens are taken away, and no more written bids can be placed.
With raffles, bend the ticket in half, as it's more apt to be picked up.....
I have so much, I don't bother. I've given stuff away I fought tooth and nail for.....
It tends to be about the competition, not the item.
I've seen some donors of items themselves "up" the bids. No one noticed as they're too busy keeping track of the obvious bidders.
