Sidewalk Ettiquette!

I don't get the manner in which people walk on the sidewalk which makes walking on the damn thing dangerous and adventuresome. I simply want to get from piont A to Point B quickly and without hassles!

The Culprits:

The Zig-Zagger! - These freaks for some reason zig zag as they walk. They refuse to go in a straight line unless it's diagnal. The trick with these is that they do have a pattern and if you walk opposite of this you can normally pass without incident.

The Meandering Willie! - Highly dangerous folks here. There is no pattern to thier walking and if you don't watch your step, they will push you out into traffic. These people couldn't wak a straight line to save their lives! They best hope it's the finger to nose test when getting pulled over by the cops!

The Obviously Oblivious! - Again Highly Dangerous as they will walk into you even though you have tried to avoid them at all costs. These folks could even be coming toward you but since they are not paying attention at all they have no clue. These folks are looking in their backpack, talking on the phone, putting on Makeup or Reading while walking completely unaware that there is like a Planet going on around them. Luckily these people are the kind that smack into Telephone poles and parking meters.

The Wall of Madness! - Usually groups of 3 or more. Normally thse are Family types who decide to hold their family reunion on the Sidewalk without much regard to the function of the sidewalk. They don't necessarily clear the sidewalk either as you pass, but let you intermingle aorund them and give you looks like YOU are the one who's being intrusive. The worst offenders of this group are the parties of 3 who decide they are making the opening of Sex and the City and therefore take up the entire sidewalk and it's just the three of them! I'm all for bringing back the single file line rule from grammar school if need be cuz there ought to be a law!

It's clearly simple...walk swiftly and be alert and aware of your surroundings and no one gets hurt!

its funny to me sometimes. U can start on one block fully clothed and normal as hell. Then get to the corner and be butt naked with a broken foot.

It's pretty bad where I work(Empire State Bldg.), mostly because of the damn tourists. I'm amazed there are so many people who can't figure out how to use a f-cking revolving door.

Oh walking through crowds is INSANE and I refuse to do so at many an opportunity. It's one reason I don't go to street fairs.

We have these 4 way Crossing lights that go to "All Walk" during rush hour. It's supposed to speed things up and all, but all it does is cater to bad walking behavior! lots of people simply walk all willy nilly without much care to people let alone traffic.
