On another monetorary note, I don't suspect many folks are planning to visit Venezuela in the not too distant future? If so, take loads and loads of US dollars. By exchangint them for Bolivares on the black market you will double your money.

I got $350 which cost €247...sadly you don't get the merchant rate at banks so it's like $1.42 to the Euro + additional fees. Still a great price though if you're shopping in the US over Xmas.

It's thought it could go as high as $1.50 to the Euro omg

So will you spend it in the US or will you just sit on it until it goes up again and then buy back your euros? If you're planning the latter you might have to be patient...

I have friends who will go to New York over Christmas almost exclusively because of the weak dollar. I guess it's a reason as good as any.

Do you see any big reactions in Canada because of this, like Canadians crossing the border to shop in the US for example? The CAD is so incredibly strong!

Sterling and Euro are very strong currencies now, if you're travelling or buying stuff in the US it's a great time. Paying for stuff by PayPal also...you get more bang for your buck.

Depends where you live, if you live in the US and accept payement from only inside the US it's not an issue.

If i buy something from a guy in the US i am getting the better deal and the €/$ conversion costs ME alot less then before.

Well, I know that many Canadians buy their cars now in the US, because of taxes and lower prices. You can actually save 10-15k doing this. But I don't know if it has anything to do with the dollar weakening.
