Schoolyard games What games did you use to play during breaks out in the yard at school? Usually we had a ball and would play soccer. Failing that though, you couldn't beat a game of British Bulldog. Both boys and girls were welcome to join in. For those who are not familiar, the aim was to run from one of end of the yard to the other without getting caught by the person who was 'the bulldog'. A simple game of tig if you like. It got banned for being violent in our school. It wasn't at all but I think the teachers thought it was too populist or something. There's Joy In Expatriation.

Ex-Moderator | In elementary school we played 4 square and chinese jumprope and regular jump rope quite a bit.
There was a game called "kiss or kill" that we played too where boys and girls chased each other and if you knocked someone down you gave them the choice of getting a kiss or getting killed. I don't remember anyone ever doing either. |

Or the guys would play football and the girls would jump rope. A couple of times we would play chinese tag when the school yard monitors weren't looking

When I was a kid, we played dodgeball and kickball. We also played this one wall handball game that we called A.S.S.. It was a fun game until one day while playing it, I got hit in the eye with the handball
