Opening a door for a girl I have always done this, but i'm wondering if this is seen as old fashioned and outdated, or there no substitute for good manners?
I'm big on please and thank you as well... "Waiting to be banned"

I always open the door for people whatever their sex. It irritates me though if they don't say thankyou. [Edited 11/7/07 6:23am] There's Joy In Expatriation.

I always do this for girl.
Especially when I want her to leave. And I always say "please" when I tell her to "get the fuck out". I can't stress this enough.

Just a few days ago I went to stand in line at the supermarket and I got to the end of the line at almost exactly the same time as a woman coming from the other direction. She asked "oh, were you standing there?" and I responded "no, I think we got here simultaneously, but ladies first!". She then just said "oh" with a disenchanted tone of voice, gave me a weird look and slowly stepped in ahead of me. Swedish women are so weird. They mistake good manners for chauvinism all the time.

Nowadays it's hard to know how to behave , if you'd do this she could say
'i don't need that , i can do that myself Yet if you don't she might find you inconsiderate and blunt Another question ; should we act macho or emo ? ; If we act macho , we are blunt neanderthalers and if we act emo we are wimps [Edited 11/7/07 6:30am]

I do that all the time. I don't think it's outdated or old fashioned. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

If we act macho , we are blunt neanderthalers and if we act emo we are wimps Awwww.... That is a cute question. As Carrie says, just be yourself. I don't think ANYONE knows what they want these days.

And ALWAYS refrain from from feeding someone else's dog chicken bones. I think that I may have killed/seriously injured at least 6-7 canines before somebody finally took me aside & explain to me how this kind of behavior is considered exceptionally rude & uncouth. I was so pissed off that my friends had allowed me to do this for that long before giving me a heads up, that I just decided to completely abandon not just them but all of society in general. That was the day that I said goodbye to the outside world & said hello to the org.
