You'll climb the walls for the first several weeks, but you'll be soooo glad you toughed it out (I quit a couple of years ago). Be strict with yourself and don't replace the cravings with food. AVOID SMOKERS DURING THIS TIME - THE TEMPTATION WILL BE TOO GREAT.
You can easily kick that bullshit's ass, man. If you find yourself caving, Google some tracheotomy pics. |

I have 6 or 7 yrs without a cig, after smoking 1 1/2 packs of Camel Lights per day. Ok, I'll admit, I smoked a cig at my brother's wedding reception when I drank too much.  Every once in awhile, the craving still kicks in, but I just remind myself that it will pass--and it does! Plus, it's SOOO nice not to be controlled by my addiction--it was deciding where I went, how long I stayed somewhere, etc.AKA, AnotherLoverToo | |

Those big individually wrapped spearmint Lifesavers got me through the oral fixation cravings, Pej. Sounds strange, but a friend recommended I get some cloves (the actual spice, the bud, not clove cigarettes!) and suck on them. Good stuff! Drank a ton of water--my skin looked great! Put a list on the fridge of health benefits of qutting smoking for 1 hr/1 day/1 week, etc. Avoided coffee, alcohol--my biggest triggers AKA, AnotherLoverToo | |
