Have you read "Farenheit 451"? If so, you're ahead of my son. Of course, YOU probably don't have a major-grade book report due in the morning.
So tonight, my almost-14-year-old son is going to learn about Farenheit 451, coffee and all-nighters. I get to be the teacher. If you have any insights about the above, let me know.

You may be able to download an audiobook for it on iTunes or http://www.simplyaudioboo...t+451/361/ Great book if you have time to read it, but if you're pressed for time...

Well, at 9:00 tonight, my son informed us that not only was the report due tomorrow, but that he hadn't read the book. In fact, he'd lost his copy. So it was a trip to Barnes & Noble for the book, the Cliff Notes, and Starbucks coffee. We got through the Cliff Notes and now he's about 70% done with the report. It's 1:30 AM. Thank God for the Cliff Notes.

Thank God for the Cliff Notes. I've met Ray Bradbury twice now. I am the Community Relations Manager for Barnes & Noble and I had the pleasure of introducing him on two separate occasions at two different events involving city-wide reads. He is a joy to listen to and spoke for at least two hours on each occasion, keeping the crowd very interested in all he had to say. (I also have an autographed copy of Farenheit as a result of one of the two times I introduced him...) Great book; teaches the youth about the evils of censorship... I hope he likes it. Next have him read Something Wicked This Way Comes or Martian Chronicles! |

[Edited 11/5/07 23:46pm] Awwwww, thanks. His mom wanted to kill him, but cooler heads prevailed. It's 2:19 AM. He's done. I'm proud of him.

Same. And I don't think I actually even fully read a single novel in high school. I have no idea how I even graduated.
